that's where nbc10's pamela osborne joins us live at the scene. pam, you just got new information. tell us about it. >> reporter: yeah. we did. the 89-year-old victim is inside right now speaking with investigators. he told police there was a ring or knock on his door on chapel croft around 2:30 this morning. when he answered, two men with guns drawn forced him inside. they tied him to a chair in the kitchen with phone cords and duct tape. the suspects tore through the home and stole a safe that the victim said houses of dollars of cash and jewelry inside from the basement. they went to the garage and stole the victim's car. it's unique. police want you to hear the description -- a baby blue 1985 fleetwood cadillac with a dark blue vinyl top. it's a p.a. license plate of gyl3356. the victim was able to free himself and call police. right now, police are investigating the possibility that a woman either 24 or 25 years old who knew the victim may have been involved in this in addition to the two suspects they were looking for. unfortunately, the victim did not get a good description

nbc10's pamela osborne is live for us on the scene at philadelphia's bustleton neighborhood with the breaking details. what can you tell us? >> reporter: that 89-year-old victim is very shaken up this morning. he spent the morning speaking with investigators here at his home on chapel croft street. here's what he told police -- around 2:30 this morning, he received a knock or ring at the door. when he answered, two men with guns drawn forced him back inside. they tied his hands and wrists to a chair. they taped him in the kitchen. the suspects tore through the home. they went to the basement where they found a safe. the victim says it had thousands of dollars of cash inside, as well as jewelry. then they went to the garage and stole the victim's car. it's pretty unique. police want you to hear and see this description of the vehicle. it's a baby blue 1985 fleetwood cadillac with a dark blue vinyl top with a pennsylvania license plate of gyl3356. it's important because the victim didn't get a good description of the suspects. the victim was able to free himself and call police. right

nbc 10's pamela osborne is standing by live. what's the latest? >> reporter: things are moving along pretty quickly this morning. they have been through opening statements and they were going over some of the witness testimony inside of the courtroom. there is a short break they are on right now. so far what we have heard is system from the officer that first responded to creato's 911 call. they testified creato was cooperative. they have also taken a look at the apartment where he lived and where brenden spent weekends. during the opening statements this morning the prosecution set the tone of what they intend to do. they allege he killed his three-year-old son in october of 2015. he pleaded not guilty says his son simply wandered out of the apartment. the prosecution says evidence will show that is not the case. brenden is afraid of the dark. it is their evidence that he would not have walked off into the place where his body was found in the dark of night. brenden wasn't wearing any shoes. when his body was discovered his socks were clean. and
