park rangers say the 15th annual apple picking event was a big success.pers and other visitors are invited to help pick apples for the orchard. those sweet apples can attract bears into areas where people spend a lot of time. that can lead to very dangerous confrontations. >> the park used to have to euthanize bears before we have the program we have now. >> there were almost 400 encounters a year between bears and people before this campaign to keep any food away from bears started about 15 years ago. so far this year there have been 38. the rangers add there's never been a case of a bear killing a person. although 13 bears have been hit by cars just this year. santa clara county is hosting a job fair today with emphasis on jobs for former and current clients of cal works. the job fair will be held at the agency's office at 1879 center road in san jose. run from 10:00 in the morning until 2:00 this afternoon. some of the participating employers include sears, vta, ryan security, wells fargo and edible arrangements. the job fair is open to everyone in san
