families in need this thanksgiving. >> news 4's pat lawson muse has been leading our annual food for e families campaign for man 20 years and she is doing it again today outside of capital one arena. pa good morning. >> reporter: good morning, eun. and what aorning it has been. take a look at some of what we've collected. all of this food for families, it's been coming in by th pabag and the boxes. people just coming and dropping off foodhi since 6:00 morning. it's been a banner morning and we still need donations. food,checks, cash, and of course, you can donate by credit card. and our phone bank is up rig now. you can call and donate at 202-885-4949. it takes a whole lot of partners to do this every year. one of our long-standing partners is from georgetown university, the magnet nurses of medstar georgetown, barbara clep is the nursecruit errecruiter. and every year you wage a campaign to collect 7,200 cans of food in 72 hours. how did you do this year >> we exceeded our goal of 7,200 and we have donations of $2,600. >> you've done this fort least a decade. why is it so important
