one trooper was leaving the barracks in blooming grove pike county and another was arriving when the were fired just before 11:00 last night. nbc 10's ted greenberg has been covering the story all day. he joins us live from bloominggrove. are there any developments in the search for a suspect tonight? >> reporter: although police are confident whoever's responsible for this are no longer in the immediate area, they say they are just unable to comb people's fears because no one is in custody. >> this attack was directed specifically at law enforcement. >> reporter: the head of the pennsylvania state police calls it a cowardly attack. two troopers shot during a shift change outside their own station in rural blooming grove, pike county, around 11:00 last night, killing one of them. >> this attack was an ambush. our troopers were leaving the barracks and were shot without warning and really had no chance to defend themselves. >> reporter: corporal brian dixon, a husband and father, who transferred several months ago from the philadelphia state police barracks died at the scene. trooper
