tonight about an armed bank robbery today in pleasanton. police are still searching for the man who opened fire on a patrol car as they were making the getaway. alex savidge joins us now with the details, alex? >> reporter: this was a takeover style bank robbery today, police say the armed men behind the holdup opening fire on one of the responding officers. this all began to unfold at 10:40 this morning at the wells fargo branch on hop yard road. police say 3 to 4 men all wearing masks and dark clothing enter that bank and ordered everyone down to the floor. the first officer to arrive at the bank spotted a white gmc yukon that was speeding away. the ofr followed that suv, at i someone fired several shots from the sub using a rifle out of a back window, and the gunfire shattered the front windshield of the officer's car, disabling it. the suspected bank robbers then reportedly carjacked another sub and drove off. >> pleasanton police department received a robbery alarm from a silent alarm button activated inside and our officers were respo
