randi, what can you tell us? >> reporter: authorities have interviewed 150 different people, including the people who were employed in that lab where annie le worked. and after doing that, they really became focused on ray clark, in part because of the videotape taken from the security cameras in that lab build, from that security system there. authorities viewed more than 700 hours of videotape and a source close to this investigation with good knowledge of this investigation told me that they saw on that video ray clark leaving that building after someone, possibly him, pulled the fire alarm and they said that he had his head in his hands and he looked distraught. also, that same source telling me that clark's dna clearly connects him to the murder scene, indicating that the victim's dna was found on the suspect, on ray clark. i can also tell you that they have been tracking ray clark since before annie le's body was found, as you mentioned, on sunday, the day that her body was found, ray clark was playing soft

joining me to talk about it, criminal defense attorney, former prosecutor, randi spencer. rene, let's start with the heat expert, douglas kosa from heat and hydration issues at the university of connecticut. now, he's a prosecution witness. ha did he come with? >> one of the key things he said today is what you mentioned earlier in the intro there, that he suspects that max gilpin's body temperature was closer to 109 degrees when he collapsed out there on the football field. when he was taken to the children's hospital here locally, his temperature registered at 107.4. he also walked the court through all of the steps that could have been taken to stop the heatstroke, to help max gilpin survive that heatstroke. he said heat strokes are 100% survivable if all of the proper measures are taken. a lot of the things that he talked about, like submerging someone in an ice bath, that measure was not taken with max gilpin. also very interesting towards the end of the day, we heard from two different doctors at the children's hospital here in louisville who treated max gilpin, and

randi used the drug for three and a half years. >> i was one of the people used to look in the mirror, today's the day i'm not going to drink and use drugs and i did every day. whether you know it or not i did. >> reporter: randy was struggling with alcohol abuse when a friend introduced him to crystal meth. >> actually the person who gave me crystal is dad. >> reporter: crystal is referred to as speed, ice, glass or tina. long-term use can cause psychosis, hallucinations, anxiety and stroke. a 2007 survey from the national institute on drug abuse found 1.3 million people over the age of 12 reported abusing meth. that number was down slightly from the year before but still cause for chern. when randy realized that his life had become unmanageable, he sought treatment. when traditional therapy didn't work, he looked for help from a higher source. >> then i had to make a decision to turn that over, you know, to a power outside of myself, who i choose to call god, and to ask god for help and guidance, and to get beyond this. >> report
