reggie? >> mike, thank you. this morning there are some encouraging signs when it comes to california's overwhelming covid surge. it could actually be subsiding. now, i say that at the same time i say that we are not out of the woods. so here is the little bit of good news. the state's seven-day positivity rate, the percentage of coronavirus tests that come back with a positive result dropped from last week. so now we are at12.6%. and the number of hospitalizations in icu patients declining, slightly. however, yesterday alone the state reported 552 deaths. and that means someone in california is dying from coronavirus just about every two and a half minutes. and santa clara county is now also the first bay area county to top more than 1,000 covid-related deaths. we are tracking the bay area as a whole, every day, and you see the rolling average here, that yellow line on the graph continues to go up. >> seeing that makes it clear there is no time to waste when it comes to delivering the covid-19 vaccine to the ma
