sierra nevada, record highs yesterday in tahoe and reno at 105.some of this thunderstorm activity, highway 1, highway 128 north of cloverdale and starting to move north. it looks like it's more into mendocino county than anywhere else. moisture is beginning to stream up towards the central as well. so maybe a repeat performance as this starts to move towards truckee and mammoth. coast, cool, inland still hot. last night was first time in a week where the lows were a little bit cooler. anywhere from 59 to about 108. if you are far enough east or north, it will be hot. inland locations will dip a little bit. around the bay, 60s and 70s. i think some temperatures it begin to drop today. if the wind cranked up, i would say it's a no doubt about it. there's still not much of a breeze yet. 50s, 60s for those on the coast. even inland areas will cool down by the weekend. >>> 7:42. we'll continue our full coverage on the b.a.r.t. strike including when talks will resume and all of the events that will be impacted if the trains don't start running soon. >>>

pretty good thunderstorms up in reno. for us it's that fog bank getting enhanced. it looks like it's calming down with my friend john up there. i can see them just to the north. they are out of the picture. look what is going on in southern california. all the way from palm springs to san diego and currently raining in burbank and los angeles. a lot of 50s for us. much, much cooler pattern than what we have seen. the key for fairfield west 25, gusts to 22. that is an extra hold, delta breeze. that is a rip roaring. anywhere from 60s to 80s. you can see a lot of that cloud cover especially down toward phoenix and into los angeles. that is not coming from our direction but it is heading in southern california. this little low coming in will deflect it. it's very close. yesterday we had some of the higher clouds. but it will enhance the fogback. morning overcast 50s and 60s and 70s and 80s and 90s. temperatures topped out and they will continue to level off into sunday and we will keep it there early next week. >>> time now 5:08. firefighters making sure a grass fire
