[speaker not understood]. today, mr. president, i'm going to be honoring richard kravitz whos has spent many, many years helping make our pride celebration a great success in san francisco. ~ colleagues, as you know, the annual pride parade in our city is critically important to our city's culture, to its economy, and to the lgbt community. over a million visitors come to san francisco each year from all over the world to participate in and to celebrate a place where they can be whoever they want to be. however, pride doesn't just happen overnight and it takes many, many volunteers, staff, and scores of independent contractors to make this event happen year after year. even in years when pride itself has had some financial problems, the parade itself goes forward like clock work because of the incredible team of people who make it happen. today i'm very honored to recognize richard kravits with a certificate of honor from the board of supervisors. mr. kravits and his late husband bill montgomery served prides as contract
