on the delta in rio vista, the weather was perfect for grilling and chilling families seeking reliefthe heat sought out the shoreline for cooling off in the river. a strict warning this year the water can be unforgiving. heavy winter rains, fast melting snowpack all moving this water quickly, keeping the solano county sheriff's marine patrol very busy. sergeant brady graham of the solano county marine patrol cautions against the many dangers of the water. he says his agency does enforcement but mostly educate for safety's sake. we want to make sure that nobody is struck by a personal watercraft. so that's a lot of what we enforce across for life jackets. that's the best tool out here to keep people safe. sergeant graham says the biggest risks mixing boating with alcohol, the hot sun, dehydration together, not a good mix. alcohol impairs judgment. i think a lot of people underestimate the power of the water out here. the water toys are the best part of hanging out on the river. according to kareem abdul. definitely boats, jet skis. we enjoy them on this. hot days like this. tammy brou
