meteorologist rob mayeda is in for cinthia pimentel.ean, you can see pretty much the whole bay area is covered in that warning, but people were asking yesterday, but the weather is so nice. >> that's the issue, the sign we'll see the winds pick up increasing around sun rise. this is the map of concern today. the red flag warning for the entire north bay, the inland east bay and the santa cruz mountains through 5:00 this evening. it's having an impact on the temperatures. obviously the wind and the humidity. san jose right now 5shgs 1 degrees. 59% humidity but very dry conditions. livermore, down to 20% humidity. look at sfo airport. east-northeast wind at 20, and 37% the humidity there. the offshore breezes are picking up, dropping the humidity levels around the bay area. we'll see those peak wind gusts from now to about midday. then we'll see those winds back off as temperatures climb up into the 70s today. coming up, we'll talk more about when we might see some rain chances improving fire weather conditions around the bay area and our

rob mayeda is here to talk about our halloween forecast. the bay bridge looks sparkling behind you. >> and a gorgeous 72-degree day in san francisco earlier. so if you liked today's forecast, you're going to see a repeat performance tomorrow. highs as warm as the low 80s south of san jose. let's take you into that halloween microclimate forecast. a look at tomorrow's high temperatures. low to mid-70s from san francisco over to oakland. 76 in san jose. highs near 80 tomorrow even though the day begins with high clouds at times. you can see the clouds starting to thin on out and that trick-or-treat forecast starting at 6:00. look at these temperatures. still 70s hanging on around saratoga and los gatos as of 6:00. then sunset is at 6:12. 7:00 and 8:00, dropping into the mid-50s to low 60s. so a jacket should be just fine for those trick-or-treat plans tomorrow. and another warm day ahead for wednesday. then come the shower chances, mainly for the north bay thursday. i think our best bet for finding rain will be late saturday into early sunday

meteorologist rob mayeda -- >> is your air conditioner working? >> i have no ac. >> one of the places you may want to go is the coast. we have a high surf advisory, too. tomorrow is day one of the heat. we have temperatures in the morning pretty comfortable. 50s and 60s and patchy low clouds. 70s and 80s inland. tomorrow afternoon, morgan hill into gilroy, temperatures climbing into the 90s. should see 80s bay side, but it's the thursday forecast where that heat advisory is bay area wide. look at these numbers, mid to upper 80s around san francisco and oakland and even bay side 90-degree temperatures. mid 90s into san jose, upper 90s around morgan hill and towards the tri-valley. the temperatures you're looking at here, about 20 degrees above the mid october average. the good news is the heat is not going to last all that long. by friday the sea breeze comes back and temperatures cool down into the 70s and 80s. a big storm offshore will send waves to the coast. keep this in mind on thursday as the temperatures heat up and you don't have air condit

. >>> rob mayeda is here. >> warm during the day, chilly in the morning. if you like both types of winter, a taste of winter in the morning, sunshine in the afternoon, we've got you covered. we've got another run at some low 40ss on the way for the morning. here approaching 6:00, we're still in the mid-70s outside. in san jose, 75 degrees. once the offshore winds picked up, it has really dried out. it's still 18% relative humidity. if the wind was any stronger right now, we would still see those red flag warnings which were active sunday. wind speeds not strong enough to warrant that. that is the culprit behind the dry air. 21% the relative humidity. even sfo airport, 26% the relative humidity. the marine air and sea breeze, it's not overcoming the dry air, high pressure, and offshore wind. still lots of 70s here approaching 6:00 inland and that humidity. 18% in santa rosa. look at fairfield, 13%. so it's going to take some time for these arrows to switch back to an onshore pattern and for that marine air to come back in. we will eventually see that once w

rob mayeda is here to kick us off on our halloween forecast. >> the kids are excited. they're ready to go. we got good weather. sometimes halloween, we have to track storms and rain. not the case. we've got all these road projects under way this week. the weather is allowing that, and we will see temperatures around the bay area, a few spots that could be close to 80 degrees tomorrow. now, let's show you just how unusual these temperatures are compared to where we typically are this time of year. should see mid-70s. look at santa rosa. pretty close to 80 degrees. yesterday in fact we did hit 80 in santa rosa. san jose, 78 degrees. right on the average there in livermore of low 70s. similar performance in those temperatures expected for tomorrow. right now 65 in san francisco. still some dry conditions out there from contra costa county and that 24% relative humidity. no marine air around the bay area. 69 degrees in walnut creek. mid-60s in livermore. notice the wind direction. still offshore, bringing in the drying of the atmosphere. high pressure doing that. 28% humid

meteorologist rob mayeda does have an early look for us at our halloween forecast. >>> and stopping retail thefts with license plate readers. we told you about this plan last week in san jose. now we're getting an exclusive look at the newest intersection to get one. >>> let's begin with a major update today in that hit-and-run crash in san jose that killed a pregnant preschool teacher and her child. police have now arrested a teenager who they believe was driving the stolen car that hit her. nbc bay area's ian cull has been following the story for us. ian, i know you got to speak with police today. what are they telling you? >> investigators say that suspect is a 15-year-old boy, and they claim he was driving a stolen car when he ran a red light at that intersection near the oak ridge mall. that stolen white sedan smashed into april zoglauer's car, then witnesses say he left the scene. april would die at the hospital. her baby was delivered but died a day later. because the alleged driver is a minor, police are not releasing his name. but they said he had a criminal history and will face
