this big whirlpool of the storm in the upper levels of the atmosphere, only 56 degrees today, 53 rochester boston, raleigh 56, but this pattern is getting ready to shift away. we'll still catch a little bit of it tomorrow. so temperature only near 60, but i want you to see what's on the map. here's the warm stuff, dallas back up to 82, new orleans 86 degrees and while it will take a couple more days before that gets in here we will be in near 80 degrees by sunday and probably monday next week. here's what's going to change it. the jet stream today still taking a dip over our area, so we have a chilly pocket in place. it begins to transition tomorrow but will still be on the cool side. all that warmth i just showed you bubbling up in the southern plains will be on the move as we head into the weekend. we will be warming up, temperatures into the 70s and 80s. so it's a warm weekend we're anticipating, not quite as hot as they'll get in the deep south, but definitely a big 25- degree jump from where temperatures were today. so if this is a little too chilly, you don't have to wait much longer
