jay korff is live in rockville with the commuter frustration. >> the scene along the tracks is clear now, but earlier in the day, a tragedy led to a near stop for commuters trying to head home. >> case of the dominoes falling. >> the daily dash home turned into a maddening commute for countless people. montgomery county police say just after 2:00 p.m., someone intentionally placed themselves in the path of a csx train. the fatal collision tied up traffic on the road and on the rails for hours. the marc train brunswick line, which shares tracks with csx had to be temporarily shut down. passengers were rerouted to the metro station. buses shuttled them to train stations further up the line. riders say a small tract in a fragile transportation system can quickly ruin the evening. >> today, probably close to three-four hours to get home. >> five hours later, the first train along the brunswick line rolled into rockville, where dozens of commuters finished their long day, bound for home. >> i would have liked to have had dinner before 9:00. luckily, i won't have to do this tomorrow. >> de

this happened as two 26-year- old victims tried to cross rockville pike at marinelli drive at 3:00 sunday morning. investigators believe the two men had just left the white flint metro station. according to police, the driver stopped briefly and then left the scene. >> the driver and the female passenger appeared to be tending to the pedestrian. the driver and passenger got back in to the acura and drove north. >> the car look like it hit a pole. i didn't know it hit two people. >> reporter: the driver of the car returned to the scene. police identified him. in addition to the dui charge, police say that the driver could face additional charges. both victims are from silver spring, maryland. >>> downtown parking will be a little more challenging for some this week. that's because streets are being closed for a hollywood film crew that will be shooting "transformers 3.
