here in rockville, the streets are plowed. we're noticing as we drive around, that might not be the best thing because it packs down the snow and there's a little bit of ice underneath. it can be harder to get a on the road. we are moving around just fine. you can see a live look outside right now. another person, i mentioned this earlier, walking in the street. can you see them as we approach them? not really. they don't have on reflective clothing. they're wearing a dark-colored jacket. if you are out late tonight, somebody who's going to have to be out late for work purposes, please be aware of people walking in the roads. many sidewalks are just impassable. i think you're starting to see this come into view, some flashing lights. i have i say, they're doing an amazing job to keep the roads nice and clear out here. we are noticing parking lots and side streets not as well treated. traveling down a main road here in rockville, if you have to be out tonight, it's really not that bad. snow is very light in nature right now. it

i'm in rockville. it's not exactly farmland, but these houses are set apart from one another. we ask neighbors, how could you not know there were 66 dogs inside the house? the house just beyond this wooded section, we have this video, we approach the house earlier, knocked on the door, nobody answered. what you see all across the driveway is basically the remnants of what the authorities did when they were here. investigation began friday in the evening and went well past midnight. it started with a dog bite report. animal control went to the house. the homeowner would not let them in the house to find the dog. they noticed evidence that made them concern. asre is a distinct stench you approach the house. they got a search warrant, when in the house, and found 66 dogs. in the last hour, we spoke by phone with the director of animal services of montgomery county police. know it is there is a wide range of reads and sizes and ages. all ofjust now capturing that information and trying to get a sense of what we have. we are taking care of the dogs that have the most immediate need

here's a live view of our rockville camera. there's the intersection of rockville pike with route 28, and just off the screen is melis melissa, and they just plowed your street. many streets in montgomery county have not been plowed yet, or if they have been, maybe one narrow lane is getting in. you can see rockville pike is nice and clear. it's the side streets. our camera is zooming in on american university. you can see some cars are stuck there and the parking lot is just partially plowed. there's nebraska avenue, and these neighborhoods in northwest washington, many of these side streets are still clogged with snow. help is on the way, temperatures getting above freezing. that's going to help for melting the snow. later this afternoon we'll take a look at our days ahead, but we'll get afternoon remelting under way and then refreezing at night. that's in just a few minutes. >> well, car lovers, you'll want to hear this. you'll be able to rejoice tomorrow. that's when the washington auto show will finally open. the blizzard

live in rockville, jackie bensen, news 4. back to you, jim. >> jackie, thank you. >>> it was a horrific crash. we're learning more tonight about the driver of a car who ran into six people after a new year's eve party. news 4's mark ssegraves live downtown to explain why the man's attorney says it wasn't his fault. mark? >> reporter: yeah, jim, ironically this is where it all began and this is where it all ended. on this sidewalk where police say malik lloyd drove his card onto this sidewalk hitting several pedestrians. it was after he was inside of this bar drinking that he got behind the wheel. according to police, after malik lloyd left the nightclub, he and a female companion got into her car. police say she told them that she was too drunk to drive, so lloyd got behind the wheel. they were driving down 17th street when police say he struck a car. witnesses tried to flag him down and get him to stop, but, again, according to police, lloyd hit the gas and sped off down 17th street trying to get away. after hitting that car
