the family of rosanne boyland who died on the steps of the u.s. capital wants to see those responsible for stoking the big lie and planning the january 6th rally held accountable. as i documented in my recent msnbc podcast "american radical," rosanne drove to washington, d.c., from georgia to attend the rally on january 6th. she was one of four people who died at the capitol that day, but to this day her family remains unsure how she ended up there. her younger sister, blair, told me she believes that former president trump actually played a decisive role in her sister's journey to washington and ultimately her death. >> do you think there is a direct correlation between president trump and what he was saying about the election fraud and what your sister believed? >> oh, yeah, definitely. i think, you know, if he hadn't have said anything, i mean there wouldn't even have been an event up in d.c. on january 6th. so she wouldn't have been there and she wouldn't have died. >> now, the older sister lonna cave and her brother-in-law justin believe janu

let's talk about one more thing, the vulnerable here, i've been looking into the death of rosanne boilen, accountability is a major issue, and q-anon, talk about their tactics. you get this guy trump, a demagogue saying i got this theory and people fall into the trap. >> you by the way podcast does a great job digging into the case with rosanne how she was feeling when she got into it. q-anon supporters, are people who think, you know, the world is broken. it's chaos. and they're looking for answers, real answers, politically and donald trump was not just an answer, basically a messiah to them. so it makes sense she found trump in this movement and went there on january 6th. lots of people in this profile, didn't really understand the world as it was and wanted one person to just fix it. donald trump as he once said, you know, i alone can fix it. he was providing this messianic voice to them. to people down on their luck, maybe lost loved ones during the pandemic, lost their job, stuff to do, lost community during the pandemic, this provided them that community. >> do you think if these
