as the shock of the sudden death of san francisco mayor ed lee sinks in. i'm kenny choi. >> i'm michelle griego. >>> here's today's front page of the "san francisco chronicle." the headline, mayor led city in time of change. kpix 5's anne makovec reports. >> reporter: a real dichotomy at city hall as we continue to mourn the former mayor also the new mayor going to make two announcements today including answering questions about what to expect in the near future. the memorial is growing on the steps of city hall. candles, flowers, cards, all left memorializing may ed lee. the first asian-american mayor who died just after 1:00 yesterday morning at the age of 65. he collapsed at a safeway at 10 p.m. on monday. he was in cardiac arrest, taken to the hospital where he died. that afternoon, police officers escorted the mayor's body draped with an american flag to a funeral home in daly city along the route firefighters stood saluting on freeway overpasses. no word on what funeral plans we might see for mayor lee. he spent 30 years at city hall working behind the scenes as public works director and city administrator. he was elected twice for mayor that was supposed to run through 2020. >> h
