while it clears out in redwood city, warmer there reaching 73. in most of san franciscos today and north bay temperatures from the mid 60s to mid to upper 80s farther to the north. we've enjoyed pretty much a wild week. but we're also seeing the storms fire up over the sierra. unfortunately there's a potential that lightning could spark off a few more fires in the eastern sierra. then the low that we're seeing now will be replaced by hype, and this is going to really ramp up temperatures for the weekend, especially across the pacific northwest. they're looking at some of the hottest weather they've efr had in spots like portland, oregon, where it may reach 106 this saturday. they're moving some of the olympic trials until early in the morning as a result of that heat. here we won't see as much of an extreme warmup, but warmer than we've seen throughout the week with highs in the low to mid 90s starting on saturday. we'll still keep it cool in san francisco with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s. marcus. >> thanks, kari. a magical moment captured in breathtaking photos
