we are standing in front of the san jose giant's ballpark in san jose. of course it's off season. a's and major league baseball met with the giants executives last month. they are trying to gauge the giants willingness to give up territorial rights to san jose. it might be a hard sell. not only do the giants have territorial rights here but they have a major league baseball team here. they have been around since the 1940s. tradition would be one of the obstacles. the a's said they need a new stadium. they now have their sights set on san jose. that is a major problem because they did not grant the san francisco giants territorial rights. still supporters say there is one hopeful sign which included commissioner bud the commissioner and major league baseball asked the a's to increase the seating capacity at the ballpark from 32,000 to 36,000. i'm trying to reach the reporter who broke the story on fox sports and hopefully we will get a conversation with him coming up in my next report. kraig debro ktvu channel 2 news. >>> it's the day before thanksgiving and chp is ganging up for d

live in downtown san jose, damian trujillo. >> active scene in san jose. another overnight raid on occupy protesters, this time on the cal campus. two people were arrested in what police describe as a mostly peaceful and orderly event. about 100 officers were on hand for the raid, which started about 3:30 this morning. crews cleared out most of the leftover debris within a few hours. protesters are gathering again tonight oorn the cal campus. ahead of a general assembly meeting which starts in about one hour from now. >>> protest the increase in tuition, now faculty members are protesting no increase in their salary. hundreds of faculty members in heyward and other campuses took part in a one-day strike. they're upset about the chancellor's refusal to pay negotiated raises they were supposed to receive between 2008 and 2010. the paychecks of administrators continue to rise, and teachers and students are the ones that are suffering. >> we're taking the long view. students may lose class for one day, but in the long run, we're trying to save their education.
