we're at 36 degrees in san martin to kick off the day, that's when we're not getting any wind. you are not just ten degrees warmer up in san francisco this morning, you are 20 degrees warmer. hey, microclimates in san francisco you get the mixing from the wind out there, so that's a pretty stark difference if you adjust the thermostat in your home by a degree or two, it noticeable waking up in gilroy, san martin, santa teresa and headed to the city. the gusty wind will drop off and the cold air will settle in 37 we get a tight pressure gradient, as a result we're seeing that wind. that system is high tailing it out of here. as a result the wind will drop off as we head throughout the day. upper 50s to low 60s, with he'll be at 64 degrees on the peninsula today. 64 degrees in the south bay and 64 degrees in the north bay to finish out the day at 3:00. notice we'll get a little of a woost from temperatures wednesday to thursday approaching the 70s, not just here in the south bay but also in san francisco before our next weathermaker moves in and this will likely bring us shower a

san martin is at 45 degrees, an indication of a nice over san martin. 48 in concord and 49 degrees in san jose. so mild continues, typically we see the 30s this time of year but we're in the 40s and 50s. another warm finish to the day with temperatures climbing into the mid-60s by lunch time. by lunch time we'll bypass our average high in time of year and at the 3:00 hour widespread 70s for today. the south bay at 72, 71 degrees on the peninsula and 69 degrees on the east shore. we've been really warm with the high pressure, nice and firm. it hasn't budged in weeks as we head throughout the next couple of days it will start to move to the east, give them some waurnlt over on the midwest and northeast section of the nation. for us, area of low pressure moves through. that's what's going to take the big ridge out of here and we'll tap into rich moisture. we call it the atmospheric river, potentially measuring this rain in inches before all is said and done. so i'm going to show you the timing and how much we're expecting, where you live in your microclimate in moments. first it's a traf

we've seen that from time to time from 101 through morgan hill, san martin.tle break as far as readouts are concerned. looking toward the east bay as well, southbound 880, zoomed toward hayward, slower drive southbound for the nimitz, "a" street an earlier crash, activity off to the shoulder. little more distraction so a little more slowing. fremont to the nimitz, southbound 680 sees a build out of pleasanton toward sunol. the orange means low clouds and fog tri valley out of the altamont and toward livermore and dublin. we'll move the map farther north. fog registers for discovery bay, antioch, pittsburgh and bay point. concord and walnut creek moving smoothly, predictable pattern. richmond and the east shore freeway move nicely to the bay bridge toll plaza. the backup is there, the metering lights are on. look at the north bay on the map a little slowing towards san rafael, just about registering on the map and the live shot the glowing lights, definitely moisture in the air and low clouds drifting in the shot from time to time. back to you. >> thank you, m

we're watching zero in san martin. sustained speed up to 20 miles per hour in mountain view 15, stephanie out in the port of oakland that wind is whipping this morning. travel with caution. i want to show you what's going on because it's also crystal clear out there. we had all those clouds yesterday really increasing, a little bit of shower activity the south end of the bay area. we picked up some snowfall in tahoe and getting snowfall this morning in las vegas from the same system. we didn't get a lot of snow in tahoe, a couple inches above the highest peeks. right now you can clearly see that's an offshore pattern. as i widen out, you see that red? that's the jet stream, it's very close to us and as a result we're getting that fierce wind this morning in parts of the bay area. as we head throughout the day today, we're going to start to see that system head out of town as the jet stream starts to move to the east and so that's why the wind advisory will expire as we head through about 10:00 a.m. today. really going
