catching light to moderate rain through santa rosa, san rafael, fairfield and concord as well, down through the south bay, a little bit starting to come down in san jose, and here's just off the coast, that's going to start to make its move inland. overall, here's what we can expect. the storm is moving in, but the biggest impact i'm going to be seeing from this, aside from the rain from the santa cruz mountains is going to be the gusty winds. wind warnings will be in effect starting at 7:00 a.m. for the santa cruz mountains, and isolated flood issues. streets that have already been flooded in the past, especially through highway 17. there is a landslide potential. the reason is we've got saturated ground. any rain at this point can be problematic, and this is a little bit more of a colder system. there is a possibility of instability that could bring thunderstorms and even small hail in the area. sierra snow, winter warnings are in effect through that stretch. be mindful of that. let's get a look at how the roads are doing with mike. >> you mentioned rain and also the possibility of compli

this is where the moisture comes into play here in san rafael, calistoga. the difference with this system, this seems to be more focused towards the north bay, which is where we'll expect the highest rain totals. even with that, we could see some of those higher totals through the higher elevation areas like the santa cruz mountains. so, debris flows, muld flows, anything like that near any sort of burn scar will be of concern. the models are showing anywhere from 2 to 3 inches, maybe even a little over 3 to 4 inches likely in some of the higher peaks for the north bay. down through santa cruz as well. typical rain showers in san jose, but the wind is another big thing. flood watches go into effect starting tonight. tahoe, this is a warmer system, so we're going to see the impacts of that rain and wintry mix, the possibility of some flooding through parents of the sierra. a winter storm warning will be in place through wednesday at 5:00 p.m. there's also avalanche warnings and flood watches in the sierra as well. let's talk about who's being impacted. the e

let's get a look at san rafael, where the picture looks so different, just a couple days ago. now you have a dry commute on your way to work, but you have to crank up the header as you're heading to work. temperatures in the low 40s. it's going to be in the low 40s through 8:00 and we won't see as much of a clear day. we'll see the sun peeking out from behind the clouds as we are headed for the upper 50s in the north bay, napa reaching 57 degrees. 57 in san francisco, 59 in mountain view. south bay, temperatures will be slightly warmer, reaching into the low 60s for today. even better tomorrow so we can make plans to get outside, enjoy the slightly warmer temperatures, and this is about what's normal for this time of year. now, we haven't seen a lot of it. it's still going to be cool in the north bay with upper 50s. but it's going to be our one little break from the really cold weather before it gets cold again on sunday. we'll see temperatures dipping another 5 to 7 degrees across the bay area. so once again, saturday is the pick of the weekend, but we're going to see changes
