one man in san rafael knows the dangers of homelessness. he said he was promised more help by the city to survive, but that much of the help never came. kelsey thorne has the story. >> reporter: for the past few months, we have been following bruce gaillard's journey to find housing in san rafael. bruce has been living in a tent for the last couple of years. back in august, we spoke with him when the city announced it would be building a sanctioned camping area near his tent. at the time, bruce was wary but still hopeful the program could help him. now, a month and a half later, he has moved into the new area, but says so far, he has been disappointed. >> there's no charging station. there's no water on the property which was promised. there is no buildings at all for case management staff to bring people in to get their information. >> reporter: bruce says right now, the new sanctioned camping area has tents and three picnic tables. it is fenced in and his 24/7 security but bruce said he was not allowed to bring all of his stuff in with him. >> i have a generator. i was told i cannot

we did yesterday in three cities across the bay area. we're in san rafael.e hit a high of 106 degrees. it was 103 in napa and san jose. we went ten degrees above the record high, hitting 106 degrees. this has been unreal and it extends into the weekend where it will be very warm for the inland areas. it's not until the middle of next week when those temperatures drop, and we'll start to see that fog returning to the golden gate bridge. our air quality also suffering. so we're seeing a hazy sky. it's unhealthy for sensitive groups. anyone with any kind of health condition should limit time outside, especially in the east bay and santa clara valley, where we're seeing the worst of that air quality. look at our current temperatures. we're at 88 degrees in san jose. this is above our normal high temperature and we're not even done for the day. so we're going to see those temperatures continuing to go up. and may be very close to a record high, at least tying the record in san jose going up to about 97 degrees. other areas that few degree drop in those high tempe
