and the grout is a benefit to anybody in sand, because in an earthquake, the sand doesn't shake loose later, after the grout dries. it's much stiffer. it's like building on be bedrock originally. so it is an advantage. but he's afraid, his engineer has told him the grout should not migrate so we have kept it three feet away from the building. sot injection points are four foot, six inches aque away frome building. as randy collins mentioned if the tube withholds and is electronically monitored from a hose to a truck. it's a very sophisticated procedure. and it's going to be very successful project. there are other houses where they initially built the garages back where they have elevators so it's very steep, somebody comes home late at night, they have to go in the garage, and go up stairs. they like to have -- above. so if you have any questions about this, i'll be very glad to answer any aspects of this project. i did the project down the street. and i've done grouting projects going back to the hampton hotel at union square since the early 60's. >> without getting into the specifi

until i could see others and i blew the sand away and i could see the rim of a broken pot. once i saw that, my eye was much sharper and i could see the details around me. i could see a small community, a family of maybe 12 had lived here. when i looked up into the cliff, i saw stacks of rock behind a little spall of the cliff that had stuck out and i realized there was a granary up there. i immediately started for it, climbing hand over hand up the cliff base. my breath tasted hot with discovery. i had found a secret. in past travels i had seen many granaries belonging to the anastasi but they had all been broken open by pot hunters or even by the residents themselves. this one had been built so no one would see it, like an attic accessed through a hidden floor. the structure was rectangular, like a cupboard. i touched its face with probing, diagnostic fingers, measuring it my eyes. 3 feet tall, 2 feet wide and 3 feet deep. i got up on my haunches and lightly dusted off the granaries roof which was undamaged. for 3,000 years not a breeze had entered this chamber, not an ink

i have the distinct pleasure of being the commanding officer of officer cafe and officer sands. i want to speak about dedication. these officers order to make a breakthrough literally have to make hundreds of contacts with individuals out there on the street. not every contact is an arrest. not every contact is a law enforcement contact. these contacts are about getting to know these individuals and building trust. sometimes they have to do the job of making that arrest and a lot of times it's building trust and trying to make that breakthrough. and once they do make that breakthrough, you should see the looks on their faces when they come into the office and say, hey, we got a guy, we got a guy that we've been talking to for a year and he wants to come forward and he wants to try it. i can't speak enough about that. their dedication also goes beyond just their work with gang prevention and violence prevention. whenever there is an issue in the district, i can always count on these two to come forward and with some sort of idea, hey, how about if we try this, how about if we try

and it's like randy said, if you go to the beach, you excavate sand. at first, it's moist and it will stand up. it's moist and it will stand up. as soon as it dries, it starts to fall apart. so by turning it into this weak concrete or some people call it sandstone you do away with that. the process involves a grid of four foot six on center, not from the property line. at four foot six on center, there's a nozzle that's stuck down and there's a group of people that are trained nozzlemen. there's dials on their machine -- on the top of the rod. the hoses, the exact pressure, how much grout goes into the cement. it's a very safe process. all the trees -- major trees above the grouting process, they're all going to be preserved. we have an arborist, a very sophisticated operation that's going to take place. and these nozzlemen who do the work are very experienced, and there's two of them for each -- one of them watches the dials, the pressure, the amount of water, the amount of cement, the mixture, then there's two or three people on the truck, there's pe
