general shelton correctly came forward and stated this affects our national security. that it interferes with gps and the fcc should not be going forward with the proposal. >> greta: light squared is competing with verizon and at&t, right those are the come pet -- competitors in the civilian market? >> right offering directly to consumers. ing concern by our military as to whether that should be available or not, correct? >> right. the real concern is there is irregular process going through the fkc. this lightsquared proposal is -- strangely moving forward even in light of the department of defense unambiguously stating this affects national security, our ability to utilize gps in precision ways. also, through general shelton's process of approving his testimony, his testimony was shared outside of the department of defense and the white house, the administration, he believes perhaps with lightsquared themselves an effort was brought forward to insert language in his testimony that would have downplayed the effect to national security this is of grave concern when we

i look at this case with general shelton. at the case of light squared and a series of three or four other cases. if you donated a lot, you got access. access got you stimulus money though everybody knew it was going to be a bad deal. taxpayer money wasted. >> i've tried 25 murder cases my wife pennye is a judge. if several witnesses get together in a serious matter and coordinate their testimony, make sure your testimony is in concert with other witness' testimony that is a felony. you can't ask a four star general, through the commander in chief, to adjust or change his testimony to fit administration facts. it is not supposed to work that way. we are having so many scandals. you mentioned several. what about fast and furious? when the obama administration, fenced automatic assault weapons to mexican drug cartels. resulting in the death of an agent on the border, one of our guys got killed by it. we are looking at almost watergate scandals. i like what james carville said, where in the heck is the president? fire somebody.

general shelton we're told did not change his testimony and did voice his concerns. but who urged him to change it? that's not clear. although whenever military men and women testify on the hill, their words are usually looked over in advance by someone from the white house, the pentagon, and the office of management and budget, omb. bill: that's a lot lot -- a lot of oversight before you start talking and answering questions. reaction from the white house, or is there any? >> reporter: a white house spokesman told the daily beast told omb suggested changes to general shelton's testimony but says these kinds of reviews are routine to, quote, ensure consistenty in the administration policy position. the companies like squared says it's ludicrous to suggest that its success depends on political suggestions going on to say in a statement, quote, any suggestion that light squared has run rough shod over the process is contradictory by the reality of eight long years spent gaining approval. here's where the donor comes in. the one of the biggest investors is an investment

we know general shelton is concerned about the process moving forward. these are the types of questions and reports circulating that certainly the fcc needs to take into consideration. and that they need to answer. why are we in a situation where unambiguous evidence shows this affects our national security and gps and things appear to be proceeding? >> i'm going try one more time. i agree there are legitimate questions that need to be answered. as you seek to answer them, do you have evidence before you on this day where you can say, ah-ha, the political contributions overruled the other agency. is that's what you're trying to find out? >> why is the fcc going forward with an irregular process with a system that absolutely violates our national security and our gps? and there are questions that clearly the fcc chairman did not want to answer by not appearing before our subcommittee today. >> what was their explanation why he didn't show up? >> he indicated he thought it would prejudice the process when he was in my office. i'm very concerned about, what
