i'm not going to go into heavy detail, i want to take you down here into the sierra madre. i was following routes all over for the house of rain, trying to figure out where the anastazi went when they left house of rain. many of them made the modern pueblos but other groups continued south. i followed pottery trails down into the sierra madre where my wife and two others went out and we came to these cliff dwellings. it seemed like every single cave we looked into had cliff dwellings. and this wasn't a place with trails. this wasn't a known location. many of these sites were pristine. they were just -- it looked as if people had just left suddenly, just like all the stories in here. little cliff dwellings, little granaries, little sites falling apart. larger sites. this site went actually 5 layers deep into this cave. very particular to this region were these shaped storage rooms. this one is about 10 feet high. often they would have door stones sealing them on the top. and they were of all kinds of shapes and sizes, but they specific to that area. that's the smallest one w

the sierra come monday may see an isolated shower or two. statewide forecast tomorrow, 80s around san diego, close to 90, 117 degrees as you head to the central valley toasty. yosemite, 94 degrees. 73 in monterey. south lake tahoe 85, and there's the cool spot, eureka 62. look at the triple-digit temperatures up and down the central valley. tonight eventually hitting the 50s, but i think we're going to be in 60-degree temperatures for morning lows probably as we get into sunday morning and monday morning as things take some time to cool off. and tomorrow's highs, we're adding 5 degrees to the high temperatures we saw today. we had 88 in san jose today. tomorrow 93. we should be close to 80 in san francisco, cool, though still on the coast and around the peninsula, east bay, though, mid to upper 80s around oakland, 90s for castro valley, upper 90s toward concord and same story up to santa rosa, a toasty weekend ahead. the the hottest day possibly sunday. it's going to take time for the sea breeze to come back so we're staying pretty hot. 90s

hundreds of strikes up across the sierra nevada and some heavy rain. this is going to play out over the next couple of days, a lot of monsoonal moisture up there. doesn't look like it will get to the bay area but heading there, take extra care. it's coming down especially in the afternoon hours. this evening, mostly clear inland mild temperatures mainly into the 70s inside the bay we'll see some patchy fog sneaking through the golden gate. and at the coast cool and breezy, winds kicking up over 20 miles an hour and fog the story at the beaches today. again kind of hugging the coast getting ready to move onshore. it will be in place tomorrow but it will break back towards the beaches. that means sunshine in the valleys and comfortable temperatures. 86 livermore, 78 san jose, and about 58 degrees some patchy fog into pacifica. next few days we'll watch those temperatures cool down a little throughout the weekend but really it looks like a nice weekend ahead. as we head toward the middle of next week we'll watch those temperatures coming off a little belo

that's what setoff the thunderstorms in the sierra nevada and that continues to stream in. so really this has been the cut off today. sierra nevada seeing the thunderstorms developing and once again tomorrow afternoon and sunday afternoon we see the sierra storms firing off this weekend so keep this in mind from tahoe to yosemite to las vegas we see this happen again. but some of the moisture is actually going to work its way west ward by sunday morning. there is a slight possibility that we will see some showers and thunderstorms around southern monterey county. very isolated in nature but it is clear here that we will get some moisture and hear in the bay area it's going to be in the form of tl clouds. look for the fog and low cloud. wide spread. numbers mainly in the 50's. tomorrow afternoon you are lacking at high at 80 degrees in san jose and cupertino. 78 for sunnyvale. 85 in los gato gatos. on the peninsula temperatures in the upper 70's for redwood city. menlo park. mount view and nice day along the coast if you like the fog it is 64 in half man bay with a few peeks

tropical moisture continues to fire up over the southern sierra. lots of reports of thunderstorms and downpours and some flooding. for us the fog has filled in completely. i mean it's there. you can see some of that near tahoe, most of that activity should move off towards the east now as we get more of a southwesterly direction. and upper atmosphere not conducive for thunderstorm activity. 51 santa rosa. little chilly up there. 53 san rafael. low 60s for some. now a lot of mid-50s. when you get that west- southwest 20 about 20 fairfield. southwest at vacaville that's a delta breeze. and so once that's in place then the leading edge of the system that's on its way is right there and that will begin to move into the pacific northwest and hang out. foggy on the golden gate bridge maybe along highway 101. inland areas come down good four to eight degrees. cooling trend commenced yesterday for some and really begins today and take us into friday and the weekend. low clouds, fog, cool to warm. but the on shore wind or delta breeze is there. temperatures
