we have snow on 17. you're going over the hill or you expect somebody coming over to the south end of the bay, watch for snow this afternoon. also mt. hamilton, you have snows there. once you get those clear, you get to see the snow in the higher elevations above 2500 feet for the south end of the bay. livermore getting showers. you head over to san francisco, we saw that shot of san francisco. the dark clouds we just saw, it was showing all of the rain just off the coast there. got some in san rafael as well. as we go through the afternoon, if you head to the sierra, bring the chains. you have plenty of snow there. we're expecting two feet across some of the lower lying areas and by lower lying areas, i mean 3,000 feet, 4,000 feet. that's where you get about a foot of snow or so. once you get to 6,000 feet, you look at two to four feet of snow and then about six feet plus across 8,000 feet. so the winter storm warnings are in place at least through tomorrow. across lake county, 5 to 12 inches of snow. a

dusting of snow on there.n on sunday things are going to cool down and get chilly yet again and kind of clear out. so let's take a look at the radar. just looking at the rain right now as it continues to move on shore. originally the forecast called for the rain to come in tomorrow morning but as you can see this rainfall is really cooking through already. a big trough there. and behind all of that, this is tonight into tomorrow, we'll see some colder air coming in. but you can see this forecast model, the forecast model calls for the rain to go throughout the entire day tomorrow. let's take a broader look at things. we have the satellite here, we have the radar so we can see the rain, and then the snow falling at the higher elevations. another winter storm warning in effect for the sierra nevada, expecting up to eight inches of snow with this system. locally expect about 1/3 to a half inch of rain in some spots. northern areas will see the most amount of rain. you can see just this huge storm in context here.
