at that time, it was snowing but as you can see, things have stopped considerably and really the snowhas cleared out. take a look behind me at route 55. we are just off the exit. that vehicle you see stopped along the highway with the flashing lights, that is one, it appears to be one of the two vehicles involved in this deadly crash. here's video of the scene that we fed into the newsroom not long ago. state police say a sedan crashed with a salt truck near the exit for route 56 along route 55 southbound. the driver of the sedan was killed. the salt truck driver was taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries. there was up to a mile of stopped traffic along route 55 southbound because of this scene. about a half hour ago, crews were able to wrap up some of their investigation on scene and opened the shoulder around this crash so that traffic could continue southbound on route 55 or it could exit at route 56. we are still trying to figure out, learn from investigators, if they believe this deadly crash was weather related and also when we learn the identity of the driver who was kil

it's just brushing us with snow heaviest snow right now over portions of virginia. as we zoom in on our area southern delaware that's getting into some of that steadier snow at the moment. these are the areas that may end up closer to that 2-inch mark but further to the north, generally light snow in philadelphia and you can see up toward the lehigh valley and the poconos not much of anything you'll see maybe a coating at best there. so this is not a big system for our north and west it will be steadier to our south and east and you can see that happening at the moment. again southern sussex county getting into some of that heavier snow at the moment. so if euro hoe beth down toward ocean city maryland it's a little seedier right now. not much more than a nuisance storm for us. at midnight the snow from philadelphia and points south still steady out there. it starts to break up. dry air will work its way into the northern part of this system by 1am. watch how it fizzles may start to come back as that system strengthens offshore overnight. we can see banding set news

it was snowing, light to moderate snow, as you can tell me from my surroundings. that has since stopped. let's take a look at route 55, which is behind me in the distance as we spoke kus in on this one vehicle, a salt truck stopped on the side of the road. that appears to be one of the two vehicles involved in this deadly crash that happened in the overnight hours. here's video of the scene. state police say a sedan crashed with the salt truck near the exit for route 56, landis road, route after of route 55 southbound. the driver of the sedan was killed. the salt truck driver was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. there was up to a mile of stopped traffic on route 55 as you approached this scene. within the last hour, crews have finished up their work, taking pictures of the vehicles involved. they opened up the shoulder so that some of that stopped traffic could slowly make its way around the scene. that traffic was either able to continue on route 55 southbound or exit along route 56. there were options for drivers to get around that scene, very slow goin
