police released surveillance video tonight of three men who shot a south san jose homeowner while robbing his house. one of the suspects checking out the front of the house. then, he goes to the backyard. and he looks around in the garage. he then makes a phone call and another man shows up. a little later they come out of the home carrying a bag full of stuff and holding a gun. there's a better look at the two suspects. the homeowner caught them red handed and one of them shot him. he was not seriously hurt. all three suspects got away in this blue honda accord. >>> the berkeley city council is considering new rules for landlords. hoping to make rental units safer after that deadly balcony collapse this past summer. we are live in berkeley where the council is still meeting at this hour. have they reached any decisions and what kind of rules are we talking about? >> reporter: they haven't reached any decisions yet, jessica. they are still meeting. proposal would require annual inspections for rental units. and tonight tenants say those requirements would make everyone safer. a memorial a

san jose police searching for three burglars this morning after a bloody confrontation with a homeowner in san jose. 29-year-old albert soumountha says that he arrived at his greenpark way home in southse earlier then usual yesterday. when he walked inside the house, he found three burglars inside. >> at that point, i told them get the hell out of my house. one of them decided to fight with me. so i fought with him for a little bit. he ran out. i ran out to see if i could get a license plate. that's when one shot me. it happened so fast. my arm dropped. that's it. >> brave to confront them. luckily soumountha was not seriously injured. all three suspects got away in a blue honda accord. >>> a bay area murder suspect is on the run -- was on the run for 18 years, but is now in cuffs in mexico. the fbi tracked down ruben lopez ramirez to the guadalajara area. he was arrested last week. ramirez and his brother hired three mexican mafia members to kill a san jose man back in 1997. the three were arrested and found guilty, but the ramirez brothers fled the country. ruben ramirez will be tried in mexico. the search for his brother continue continues. >> happening today, the man accused of g

san rafael 77. berkeley high today 68. so we have rainfall to our south and to our east even the diablo range east-southeast from san jose saw a few showers today, likely saw the build-up of clouds on 680 today. now looking to the north this is a different area of low pressure. you see the rainfall building to the west of fort bragg, eureka, crescent city. that's the guy that's going to get here tomorrow morning. look at all the clouds offshore. so one low is moving out of southern california. one low will move into the pacific northwest. and that's going to drag a front through. it will arrive in the north bay by the time you wake up tomorrow morning. so a front arriving tomorrow. it's not going to be a ton of rainfall not a washout. you should absolutely not cancel any outdoor plans but don't be surprised if through the morning hours a couple of times for five or 10 minutes it rains especially in the north bay. it's not going to last very long. by saturday night we have sunshine back high pressure returns to california by sunday. it won't be hot. we'll get a light onshore flow but it will be dry. let's enjoy the rainfall w
