we're looking right now zero to six inches for south jersey and southern delaware. the most southern portion. we change over to that blue, possibly five to ten inches as we get into parts of jersey closer to philadelphia, eight to 15 inches or more possible as we go philly all the way up into parts of berks county and the lehigh valley. these numbers may shift. the closer that center gets to us, that would push the higher amounts farther north. this may need to be adjusted as we move forward with the snow totals because of the setup of that system. really it's all about the track and how close it is to us on these totals. i'm sure we will be tweaking these as time goes on. >> we talked about this in previous storms. obviously it's important to stay in touch with us because the models that come out, they can change. >> the system hasn't even formed along the coast yet. once it forms, it will interact with ocean waters, probably clip the carolinas. when that happens we get new data, feed that into the computer models and we look at it with our expertise as meteorologis

southern delaware and the jersey shore, mostly rain. the issue there is the wind and the coastal flooding. here's the blizzard warning, every county north and west of philadelphia, except for delaware county and once again that includes high winds, low visibility for at least three hours. it's hard to get at this portion of the country. the coastal flood warning covers the entire coast. high tide is about 9:30 in atlantic city. expect moderate coastal flooding. the first radar echos are getting close to washington already. that is moving up fast. and we also have the snow area moving in from the west. these two things are going to combine. but this is just a tremendous area of moisture. and the computer models are putting out as much total precipitation as you can see in a 12-hour period. so the tidal flooding, just minor flooding tonight. and moderate tomorrow morning. it's just one high tide you have to worry about at the shore. but it's going to be a nasty high tide. right now it's 40 degrees. above freezing everywhere, but the roads

very heavy rain currently falling through southern delaware, most of southern new jersey, more mixinginning to take place though around philadelphia, we saw some sleet in philly over the last hour or so, along i-95. so not just sleet but also heavy snow falling here along i-95, really going to slow you down, then you get the darker shades of purple indicating heavier rainfall or snowfall intensity, that's going to lead to poor visibility. in addition to that, as we had mentioned earlier in the show, anything from chester to montgomery to bucks counties and points north you're now in a blizzard warning, folks, and the blizzard has a very specific definition for us to call it that. got to meet certain cry tear y got to have some snow, whether it is actually falling from a storm, or blowing around, you don't actually have to have a storm overhead as long as the snow is blowing, that is part of the criteria. wind gusts of at least 35 miles per hour. and your visibility under quarter of a mile. all of that for at least three hours. at least three hours. and it looks lick we will have that

much snowing everywhere with the exception of our south jersey points and through zen tran and southern delaware that rain/snow line makes its way up toward the i-95 corridor. and by 10am, we see the cold air move in and the snow begins to taper off by the afternoon. so i think we'll see that rain/snow line coming up to the i-95 corridor just like as the tide moves in and then go back down and that will limit snow accumulations in some areas. especially south jersey and delaware. we have that below card warning to the north and west of the city through central and northern new jersey, through the lehigh valley and the poconos all about the wind and to have a blizzard warning you need winds at 35 miles an hour or greater for a sustained period of time. and poor visibility and that is what we expect. the height of the storm between 8:00 a.m. and 12 noon with snow rates of two to 4-inches an hour to the north and west of the city. winds gusting to about 45 miles an hour poor visibility and hazardous trial travel. the highest amounts to the north and west the city. ten to 15-inches in the suburbs. 1
