i want to show you video in virginia, southern virginia, south boston, virginia.s is an area of virginia that saw extremely heavy rainfall from our last storm that we saw. and they're still dealing with flood warnings in that area, parts of southern virginia and north carolina inundated with up to seven inches of rain in that part of the region. so even though we didn't see nearly that much, they got it down to the south, right along the virginia/north carolina border. look at that flooding. there it is right there. show you what's happening around the rest of our region, some cloud cover and a mix of sun and clouds all day today. temperature wise, 78 degrees. temperatures dropping through the evening, but again, very nice. it is a some people said it's humid outside. it wasn't that bad. a little bit humid. watch out for some showers around 11:00. here are the numbers at 6:00. 82 fredericksburg and charlottesville, 80 degrees. radar, nothing to show in our area, but back towards frostburg, shower activity there. this is the front we're looking at. you can see it o

houses behind me here on culpeper street in the fort hunt section of alexandria, virginia, fairfax county down here in the southern was on the phone with somebody and that person on the other end thought the man was experiencing a mental health crisis. reached out to fairfax county police. police came with an emergency custody order which meant they could take that person in for a mental health evaluation without him being charged with anything, to kind of check him out, see how they're doing. when they arrived to serve that emergency custody order tand to bring that person in, that's when the barricade situation happened. the homeowner refused to come out. we understand that there are also maybe two young children inside the home. don't know if there are any weapons involved but we can tell you negotiators are on the scene and they have been in contact with the homeowner again hoping that all of this they can bring it to a very peaceful resolution. we still continue sirens in the background. don't know if those are from ambulances or arriving police cars but a lot of surrounding streets completely filled with eme
