ktvu tara moriarty live in oakland now with the details on how this fire started. tara. >> reporter: we want to show you what officers found inside of this home here in oakland. and that is a lot of marijuana. there are about 300 pot plants that they seized. we have seen officers poking around inside here with flashlights. it's pretty dark since the electricity had to be shut off because of an electrical hazard. authorities went in around 3:00 this morning. within a couple hours they should have all of this stuff loaded out here. just a few minutes ago we noticed they hauled out large fans and lamps and how they stumbled upon this grow operation last night around 7:30 officers responded to a call in the 7,000 block of lacy avenue. an electrical box outside the home had caught fire. the suspects had rigged their electricity to illegal route power from a nearby pole. the fire department notified police that found 300 pot plants inside. we are told police have made no arrests so far and the fire did cause minimal damage. this is a very hardous process. there are wires

. >>> ktvu as tara moriarty joins us live. been at a news conference where san francisco police announced a new push targeting criminal suspects that they are looking for. good afternoon, tara. >> reporter: good afternoon. nothing is outside of the box. that is what the chief of police said regarding getting guns off the streets. yesterday, police made 68 arrests. 53 of those were felony arrests. 15 misdemeanor, 18of them at large. so a major crackdown on crime. san francisco has had 38 homicides so far this year. the chief says the city saw 10 homicides just this past month so especially bad. >> in front of me here are some of the firearms that have been recovered off the streets of san francisco, just in the last two weeks. all the guns that were seized here are before you because an arrest was made, someone was carrying each and every one of these firearms on the streets of san francisco, one would have to think prepared to use it. >> reporter: the department is working with atf to trace the firearms, the chief says the most

tara moriarty joins us now from benicia. >> reporter: this sign says what has weighed upon many park goer minds for some time. park closed due to budget cuts. now a short-term plan has saverred this park from closing on monday. we don't know how long. 70 of california's 278 state parks have been slated to close july 1st in an effort to save $22 million. as of yesterday they signed 40 agreement with partners including nonprofit and local goths to keep the parks open. another 25 are still being investigated. the vallejo times is reporting city negotiations will continue over a short-term plan to maintain trash and other services. volunteers are collecting gate fees. because the park receives federal funding it has to remain accessible for pees. governor brown says it takes from other important purposes or many violate the states agreement. now if you would like to know the other areas that are in jeopardy of closing, benicia as we mentioned has makeshift plans to stay open for now. these others will shut down sunday. they are mineral and mining museum in yosemite area. gray whale cove.
