live in ship bottom, ted greenberg, nbc 10 news. >> thank you, ted. we continue our live team coverage now with nbc 10 delaware bureau reporter tim furlong. tim, when i last saw i joked about your kids making snowballs. glenn told me this is good snow for snowballs, but i'm not sure that there's enough snow to make snowballs. >> reporter: yeah, they're going to be little snow meatballs maybe. it's snowed for hours and hours but don't really have anything to show for it. north wilmington the roads really just wet. yes, if you want to make those snowballs, this is what you have to work with, not much at all. the roads not in too bad shape. take a look at video i shot earlier. we fired up my dash cam. the road surface is just wet. i didn't find problems on any secondary roads either. we did find snow that sat on cars outside overnight. state police saying everything is pretty much normal today as well. as we come back live i can also tell you deldot is monitoring road surface temperatures. they're telling me at this point they're in the upper 30s up and

. >> jersey shore bureau reporter ted greenberg is live in ocean county where emergency measures are under way to protect homes in lbi. tell us about those measures. >> well, those measures is because of severe beach erosion and we have light snow falling on long beach island, but you can see the bigger issue here is this significant flooding. this is high tide here on long beach island and you can see that the water goes all of the way across long beach boulevard. we're at 84th and the boulevard in long beach township and you can see what happened to one of the drivers who decided to take his chances and drive through this water. the car appears to be stalled out right there in the middle and the water goes all of the way across the boulevard and it's filling up the side streets here, as well and certainly a risky situation to try to drive through it. this is all saltwater that came out of barnegat bay and you can see the waves being created here because of the large truck that just drove by. high tide happened a few hours earlier south of here. we've got video from cape may county

ted greenberg, "nbc 10 news." >> a warning tonight for people who run or jog along the schuylkill river trail. police have stepped up their patrols after three armed robberies in four nights. all of the victims have been men. the first two robberies happened sunday night, nine minutes apart. a group of five teenagers robbed two people on that trail and then took off on bicycles. last night the teens struck again. two of the suspects are in custody. >> new at 6:00, five fights in the past few days prompted the abington school district to send a letter home. students videotaped the fights and sent us the video. all of these happened at abington senior high school. in one case a resource officer was punched. no one else was hurt and no weapons used but now the police presence is beefed up at that school. >> also new at 6, two people in custody for soliciting at this massage parlor. they were providing sex for money at the body of zen. the arrest followed a joint investigation by radnor police and pennsylvania state police. investigators are still sifting through evidence to see if they nee

. >> now to nbc 10's ted greenberg live in south jersey. >> how it is where you are, ted? >> reporter: jim and jackie, we're at woodbury height, gloucester county. amazing how it was a couple of hours ago. torrential rain and very strong wind. just take a look at what those winds did to a couple of utility poles. they -- the wind just knocked them right down, blew them over. this is route 45. right where woodbury heights, woodbury, and west deptford all come together. they brought down the utility lines, and the utility lines are lying across route 45, which police have closed down here. you can see them right there at the intersection of south evergreen avenue and route 45. directing traffic away from this area. i talked with one of the guys who works here at the napa auto parts. and he says when the storm came through, he thought the wind was going to blow the roof right off. we talked with a convenience store owner nearby in woodbury. and he had a similar account. >> it's crazy. it was a lot of wind. i thought somebody was going to -- the stuff was flying and everything

live in west wildwood, ted greenberg. >> let's check in now with meteorologist sheena parveen. tell us more about this coastal flooding threat. >> we're watching for another high tide later on tonight and tomorrow morning, so we have a coastal flood warning. all of the counties in green, these are delaware beaches, the entire jersey shore, this continues to extend up into parts of long island. so moderate coastal flooding is expected at high tide tonight and tomorrow morning, so tonight that would be between 7 and 8:00 p.m., tomorrow between 7:30 and 8:30 in the morning. a look at our storm surge map we could see around one foot. maybe two in areas in sussex county, high tide 7:36. storm surge for parts of cape may county from about 1 to 2 feet and the high tide here 7:54 tonight, 8:16 tomorrow morning. as we go closer into atlantic county, same thing 1 to 2 but in the back bay we could see 3 feet, that's when the water gets pushed onshore and has nowhere to go. the bays we see more flooding high tide 7:20, tomorrow 7:42. that's going to extend into ocean county with about a fo

ted greenberg, "nbc 10 news." >>> a snowy start to the day in parts of the area.people in delaware county had to clean off their cars before they hit the road. we found this man brushing away snow in havertown. by this afternoon the sun was shining, here is a live look at the blue cross river rink at pen's landing getting a cleaning. there are a few weeks left to enjoy winter fest. the rink will close february 28. we're looking to a nice weekend. first a slippery threat. >> first alert meteorologist sheena parveen has a look at how the weekend is shaping up. >> we're going to watch for icy spots from the snow today that you just saw, so wet snow across the area. here's the snow coverage now. very different than what we had 24 hours ago. it was north and west but now we're seeing some snow cover in new jersey and delaware. a lot of this has started to melt today. but that's going to be the issue tonight. a lot of the snow that fell is melting so some of that will be freezing tonight on untreated surfaces, once those temperatures drop down below freezing. right now
