we begin with terry mcsweeney at shoreline park with the latest on the search for the murder weapon. >> reporter: 43-year-old one goh expected in court today this afternoon prosecutors have a mountain of evidence against him. one thing missing is the murder weapon. oakland pd say they've developed information that leads them to believe it was thrown into this body of water between the oracle arena and oakland airport on monday morning. take a look at the effort to find that 45 calibre handgun. these are divers going in last night into the water, looking for the semi-automatic gun used in monday's rampage that killed seven and wounded three. the suspect goh has confessed but for some reason stopped short of telling investigators where he threw that handgun. police have information that it is in here so they called in the robotic sonar scanner from the san francisco police department. they have boats some from the coast guard, some oakland pd equipped with scanners come in yesterday, they searched all day long. then the divers went in at night. investigators don't think the current goi

terry mcsweeney is live at the hall of justice with the latest on the edwin ramos trial. >> reporter: he's accused of murdering three members of the bologna family in 2008. today's questioning probably won't be as friendly as yesterday, prosecution will be taking over today. yesterday it was his attorney asking the questions. the crime stpraepb four years ago. -- the crime scene from four years ago. ramos says he was diving the car while his passenger opened fire, mistaking one of the boys as a rival gang member. none were in a gang. ramos testified he had nothing to do with the shooting didn't know flacco had a gun. take a look at this, he said my mom told me i wish you were never born. whenever i cried she said i was gay. i ran away many times after my mom's boyfriend beat me up. much of the testimony delivered with a smile. his attorney had to ask him about that on the stand, he said he smiled when he gets nervous. he admitted he was not only a gang member, he was also dealing drugs. the prosecution says it doesn't matter what he said they have an ironclad case, witnesses say ramos

terry mcsweeney, abc7 news. >>> we are learning more about the victims who died. this car belonged to a woman who was murdered when the gunman carjacked him. he a residential hotel in north beach. his landlord told abc7 news he called to check on the nursing student when news broke but got no answer he emigrated from india several years ago. he worked nights as a janitor at san francisco airport. attended classes during the one student's actions may have stopped the gunman from shooting many more. she heard a popping sound that at first she thought was fireworks then heard a woman scream "oh my god" that's when she strange into action locked the door turned off the lights and she and her classmates got down on the floor. >> start shooting on the door, three or four times he shot on the door maybe he thought nobody was inside because it was dark and he could not see anything. then he moved on to the other room. i can hear the gun banging then suddenly like the lady she was asking for help. >> no one was hurt in that classroom. she says her faith played a large part

terry mcsweeney is live along the pacific coast. >> reporter: starting at shortly after sunrise thismorning they will be going back out again trying to spot june the gray whale, spotted coming into monterey county yesterday morning, could easily be in santa cruz county by now. this whale was first spotted last tuesday. take a look at video from last tuesday. this whale was spotted off laguna beach in southern california this is not fishing line like many of us go fishing with this is crab pot line very thick, impacting the whale's ability to eat. three buoys were attached to that whale last tuesday. a whale at sea is still very difficult to find. rescue groups lost the whale, until yesterday morning. rescue groups found her coming into monterey county. today a group call the california wail entanglement team, which responded to this -- kind of predicament is going out. the group is going to hug the coast looking for june the whale. coast guard is on standby if the whale is spotted it will set up a 200 yard perimeter around that whale for safety. the biggest issue in getting this thic
