in the east bay, 68 degrees as you ride home. and look at the north bay, 70 degrees. san francisco up to 65 degrees. so, looking very nice. not much of a wind as we go trow t through the day. the wind off shore. we see the temperatures warming up, but isn't anywhere for the warm air to come from. so, we will have more of the cool mornings, crisp, too, and some sunny afternoons and into the next couple of days. we're getting ready for some more rain. the next cold front moving in will bring in some showers and this starts early sunday morning and you want to make sure you put that in the weekend plans because it does roll through here and brings quite a bit of rain in the forecast. some of the initial runs of the computer models show at least a half an inch of rain for the north bay. let's keep that going. we will have some good soaker of a rain for the end of the weekend. meanwhile, we'll have a dry start to the weekend with friday and saturday in the 60s and 70s. and much cooler on sunday. let's check in now with anthony for a look at the commute. >> hey, good morning

the south bay. east bay at 43. and then in the north bay, an average of 39 degrees. what i want to do next is take you into the microclimates in the north bay that will go down into the 30s. best chance would be napa at 35. st. helena at tlat, and petaluma, 39. these temperatures aren't too far from the average, which is 41 degrees. it's just the fact it's been so mild for so long, and it does feel unusual out there. speaking of the cold, the sierra snow, we brought you the pictures earlier in the show. kirkwood at tahoe reporting 14 to 18 inches of snow. a few people getting out there to shred around in the action. a great start to november. as we take you to the pacific, the area of low pressure that brought the storm yesterday. it's still dragging down a copious amount of that chilly air. that's the main reason why tomorrow morning will start off cold. but look at the sunny skies for the afternoon. as we head throughout saturday's forecast, we keep the sunshine and mild weather in the mix. there are some changes now to the forecast. we have added the possibility of

the south bay. also notice the high clouds on the increase. san francisco, 64 and the north bay at 67. so it's more of the same as woe head throughout the forecast for thursday. we are tracking some changes. just off to the north, we have that storm system again bringing the cloud cover for tomorrow. also rain to the pacific northwest. our best chance of rainfall still about three to four days out. it's going to come from this storm that's developing out in the gulf of alaska. we're going to see this energy branch off and eventually bring us that possibility of rain. looks like that next best chance is on sunday's forecast. notice the temperatures stay on the cool side. below average. that possibility of rainfall. not a big chance for the south bay or the peninsula even for the tri-valley. looks like san francisco and the north bay, that would have the best bet of getting accumulating rainfall here across the bay area. round it out on this extended forecast. dry again on thursday. chance of showers as we head into sunday's forecast. look at this. temperatures drop again by monday with a

same for the north bay. owers first and then the rain starts to push down towards the peninsula, the east bay and eventually for the south bay. it's not going to be until tonight when we see the rain for the south bay and the tri valley. we will see a dry day for many inland valleys. the clouds will continue to stream in. you can see from this the leading edge of the cold front. showers will develop. it will be widespread overnight. i don't think there's going to be a place in the day area that does not see rain tonight. tomorrow we become more widely scattered with rain. there will be the potential for some thunderstorms, and the sierra is expecting is it to i inches of snow. by noon, clouds become extensive and we will see showers in the north bay. this is 4:30, not a whole lot of rain this evening, very light in nature, not until the sun goes down, 9:00, 10:00 when showers become more widespread. after midnight, heavy rain across parts of the east bay and the south bay, that will be with you tomorrow morni

we're going to start to see that rain coming in in the north bay, je. the cloud cover is definitely increasing right now. for tomorrow's forecast, the first stop for the storm system will be the north bay and getting chilly. no doubt one need the jacket and the umbrella for tomorrow morning. but it's not going to be an early morning rain event for that commute. so let's go ahead and take you through the timeline. you can see as we head through tomorrow morning, we'll likely g begin to see this rainfall arriving by 9:00 up into marin, na napa, sonoma counties. then eventually starting here in san francisco, down towards contra costa county. as we continue through the morning hours, around 11:30 in the morning, that clt drops counsel into san jose. so it will be later to get to you down here in santa clara county. we'll see showers linger until about 2:30 in the afternoon for morgan hill and gillroy. across the bay area, it will mean snow for the sierra. check it out around the afternoon hours. heading across interstate 80, highway 50, we will have some he
