at the west oakland bart station, it's not open yet. we're waiting for the gates to come up because 14 stations are running bart trains right now. this is not one of them. it will be open this morning, though, for the normal commute. and a lot of riders will flock here. there was a record-breaking day yesterday. let's take a look at some of those numbers. from midnight to 7 p.m., more than 390,000 people rode bart yesterday. that was an increase of more than 61,000 over the same day last year. many of those riders parked at the bart station. now, we saw several tickets handed out at the walnut creek bart station. bart police wanted to clear the lot for riders with permits. if you do not have a monthly permit, you have to park in one of the lots that are marked "fee "one of the fee lots. we also found one of the parking enforcement officers giving tickets at lafayette station. once the drivers got on the trainers the cars were crowded too. >> you had to wait for the people to get off for space to get on. i'm not sure everybody waiting act
