. >>> breaking news on the peninsula. san mateo police have finally caught a ride share driver accused of sexually assaulting a passenger. this is the sketch police were working with. his arrest came after a two-month long investigation which officers say was difficult at first because of the lack of information that was coming from both uber and lyft. robert handa is live in the area where a news conference wrapped up. robert? >> reporter: that's right. it's almost like the arrest and the investigation are two separate issues. but police say the brutal nature of the crime and the way the suspect used ride sharing as its ruse made police intent on capturing him. a short while ago here in this building they said they did. >> police released this picture of 40-year-old brandon sherman of san jose. he's a ride share driver who took his victims to an isolated area and sexually assaulted her. they tracked down surveillance tips. it led them to a san jose home. >> i believe this individual -- i'm hoping we caught him in time. bu
