oakland down by 4, and the peninsula stretching down to the south bay we're a tad warmer, a few degrees lower for most of us. when we get to the second part of the morning, the low clouds and fog will pull back and will be away from the coastline once again. for the time being, we're dealing with patchy fog and dense fog and visibility is gown a quarter of a mile as you wake your way through petaluma and roanoke park. be careful when it's patchy like that, it is dangerous and comes without warning. for cloud cover this afternoon, we'll be mostly sunny away from the coastline. yesterday the coastline actually cleared out quite nicely and we had sunny skies across the bay area, you could see the same again for today. the offshore know continues, it's weaker than earlier in the week, it's bringing us dry warm weather. 71 for san francisco today, a lot of 70s, and 78 in mountain view, low to mid-80s and 80 expected in livermore today. we won't see a lot change for the beginning of the weekend, the second half, a cooling trend will get under way. we'll have details coming up in a bit. it's 4

don't be surprised if the cloud cover is very slow to clear on the peninsula. expect overcast skies in that area. redwood city high of 72. up through the north bay, 79 degrees. down through nevado, 77. i'm tracking a system just up north that's not going to bring necessarily rain to the bay area. what exactly is it going to bring in terms of rain fall? as we head in toward the sunday 5:00 a.m. hour, you can see that system sticks off mainly far to the north. the area that's might catch some light showers is far sonoma counties. so no major rain is expected. you saw how big that system looks up there, that trough, but since a lot of it stays up north, this is good news for us in terms of halloween and a nice drop in those temperatures because of that system as we head in toward sunday. we might keep the chance of drizzle on sunday as we head into monday and tuesday. we'll keep the upper 60s and check out wednesday. we get another system that's going to warm us back up just in time for halloween. you won't need a heavy jacket to cover up your costume that you work
