it's moving east into the sierras. this is a look at the north bay, areas like santa rosa have picked up half an inch of rain. they got it first. we are seeing the back line of the rain here. so as we get into the second part of the day the steady rain moves out and the shower activity continues. when i come back, i will have a detailed time line of the rain. that's coming up in just a bit. >>> we want to go back to our breaking news in oakland. crews ra still on the scene of a fire at a recreation center. what can you tell us. >> reporter: the rain is helping. we have firefighter on the roof putting out hot spots. they have already gained control of the fire. when it started it had engaveled the whole building. the fire inspectors have gained entrance into the building. the fire chief said she did not know if anyone was in the building. the crews found the community center fully engulfed in flames. they fought the fire from above and with hand lines. you can see through one side and out the other side of the building.
