tim cook takes the center stage out there in san francisco.nual worldwide developers conference. wwdc. just like the old radio station in washington. that is where howard stern got his start or really became howard stern. a little information you don't get anywhere else. where he unveiled, that would be cook, a bunch of hardware and software upgrades. how'd he do? how do you grade him, cindy? >> i would say probably a "c." people -- i talked to a couple of people crazy apple fans. they said they wanted one thing. a new iphone. they knew they weren't getting it today but that's what they wanted to hear or hear other things like improvements to siri. idy he did okay and keeping investors from falling off the cliff but he's no steve jobs. >> siri needs improvement. it needs work. >> definitely. people talked about it being a step to announce, going to make it more useful. that didn't happen. i think anybody that tries to replace steve jobs will have this problem for a long time. you just lack the ka miss ma, the magnetism. >> there's a tremendous

let me tell you what i think we'll see tim cook deliver on the stage.mors and the blogs we've been watching and our knowledge of the industry, we think they're going to update the operating system that powers the iphone and the ip ipad, the ios, that's number one. number two, we are going to see some hardware in the way of max. we think they're going to up date the entire line of mcintosh computers. the guy, like he said, wants to see an apple tv. maybe we see something in that regard? we don't know. apple is known for its secrecy. >> i'm a big google maps fan. i've been hearing rumors that it's possible apple may be coming out with software to rival and compete with google maps. is that what they're talking about this morning? >> yes, in terms of the operating system, we believe apple's going to drop google as being the default application for its maps. it's been gobbling up mapping companies with some of its billions of dollars. look for apple to unveil something pretty interesting with maps today. >> i have the name, mapple. i'm kidding. i'm kidding.

brian, so what are we to expect from tim cook in less than an hour here?ouncement are we going to get? >> i think the briggest announcement is going to be they're putting retina screens, high resolution screens on the ipad and iphone into the macbooks. that's something that's never been seen before in a notebook computer. i think that's the first thing. second big announcement is facebook integration, i think, into ios 6 coming out later this year. that's a really big announcement. thus far they've only integrated twitter. the third thing is apple's move into the mapping environment. google maps right now is the map supplier for the iphone and ipad. looks like apple is going to introduce their own map. >> but no tv? >> there's not going to be a tv announcement. it's very possible they make some announcements around the apple tv product. not a large 46-inch hanging on your wall tv but the hockey puck that they currently offer. i think it's possible they make some announcements around that. possibly they announce the ability for developers to actually make a

mark, is is there going to be a big steve jobs-like reveal from tim cook and get something big? if so, what do you think it could be? >> we're not calling for anything huge but highlighted the mac book pro, gave a notebook update. they talked about a mountain lion updated and waiting for the ios6 update and you might get a one more thing type of announcement. we are looking for an update on the i tv. our guess is not. maybe just a software update on the apple tv. but we shall see. >> i mean, you have a buy ratding already on apple. if we do get more details about i tv and the market likes it, how much more upside could that mark for your forecast? >> that's right. so for our forecast, we don't have a lot built in for the itv. so it would be helpful to get that. right now i'd say the stock at 580 pretty attractive level. 11 times earnings here with a good pile of cash on the balance sheet. >> are we running out, mark, of the big wow to really drive the stock? i mean, siri was a big launch. i understand that. now ios6 and incremental improvements with the retina display to the ipa

tim cook announced to developers in san francisco. leading off apple's new product rollout: a new macbook pro featuring a super sharp retina display. it comes at a price though at $2199. the high-end laptop is one of the thinnest on the market and will compete with microsoft's powered ultra-books expected out in a few months. apple is also upgrading its software, making it much easier for iphone and ipad users to use facebook to like movies and apps in apple's itunes store. and google is on apple's radar. it's dropping google maps and developing a new version of its smartphone operating system with an apple-created mapping service. the new software will launch in the fall and there is already speculation that might be the time when apple launches another version of its iphone. dow dan costa of "pc" magazine.com joins us, hi, dan. didn't seem to be people were too excited about all of these products. what was your take. >> well, i mean i think it's hard to be too hard on ame. they just came out with this brand-new ipad just three month
