tom sherwood has been covering this story all day long and from the beginning and joins us live fromashington with the latest. >> reporter: jim and wendy, federal agents are still coming and going from the house here as they've been doing all day. it's been a long day for them and for harry thomas jr. this is a major step up in the federal investigation of him and the spending of hundreds of thousands of dollars in city government funds. just after dawn friday, federal agents raided councilmember harry tommy thomas' house on this cul-de-sac in northeast washington. federal agents towed away an expensive motorcycle and thomas' new chevy tahoe. federal authorities confirmed they took action in an ongoing investigation, but they declined to even confirm it was thomas' house. federal authorities, including the irs, are investigating thomas for allegedly taking $300,000 in city grant money for youth sports and spending the money lavishly on himself. thomas has denied wrongdoing, but after a separate investigation by the d.c. attorney general this summer, thomas agreed to repay the entire
