and meteorologist tony pann reports it is a nice few of us will ever forget. >> the wind was not in a single direction. it would rain, rain more, and then it was like a deluge. it was scary. >> the first twister touched down around 2:30 in the afternoon. one mile west of damascus on june 1. several more tornados would spawn and rip through the state that day. in all, 12 tornados touched down in eight maryland different counties. and throughout the entire severe event, 11 news viewers kept sending in their amazing videos. here's a look at one final cloud spotted in mount airy. in anne arundel county, this is the storm that came through the area around b.w.i. in nearby fort meade. dark skies and swirling winds were recurring sights for many residents. most of damage it was from trees crashing into homes. >> i felt like it was a helicopter 100 yards above my house. >> it centered around the storm that went through the fall ston area. more than a dozen homes were damaged and downed trees littered yards and streets. the weather did not setting down that night until 9:00 p.m. >> interesting
