a tow truck is on scone getting ready. at least putting the things in place it needs to to upright this overturned trash truck. around 3:30 this morning. this trash truck was traveling southbound on 95 right before the exit for bridge street. it apparently, the driver lost control. state police say he may have fallen asleep at the wheel and he may have had a medical emergency and either way he lost control and the tractor trailer overturned on the median and is taking out several lanes in both directions. northbound traffic has been grossly affected for the last hour and a half. ee only one lane in either direction is getting by. workers tell me the best case scenario they expect the tractor trailer to be uprighted and towed by 6:30. they are hoping penndot can come in with front end loader and remove all the trash that is strewn about the northbound lanes. that is best case scenario. we know this is typically a problem spot for volume that builds very quickly in this 6:00 hour. really into 7:30, 8:00. all this traffic com

the tow just got to the scene, that is one of the real heavy duty tows that will upright this tractor trailer and eventually get this out of there. but that is going to be after quite some time. this accident happened and been out there with us for at least an hour and 15 minutes at this point. police are on the scene. fire department activity at the scene. the tow is just getting to the scene right now. a really serious accident blocking multiple lanes in both directions on 95. let's take you to the maps and show you exactly ewhere this is. if you're unfamiliar with the location of bridge street this is the tocony-palmyra bridge and betsy ross. the tractor trailer was traveling southbound on 95 just passing the tacony-palmyra and overturned to the right-hand side. that's the location 95 at bridge street and take the on ramp to get back on to 95 southbound, if you want. or take the boulevard. as you can see this area does run parallel to 95 and that is going to be an option for you. that delay is starting to form and started just about 20 minutes ago. not seeing a huge delay just yet,

two big tow trucks here. those are tow trucks for trailers like this. these guys know who to use cables and wedgees and how to lift this stuff and get it out of here. behind this spot you see lots of penndot trucks all line up ready to do clean up work because what spilled out of this tractor trailer was a bunch of smelly garbage. thank you sue serio for temperatures around 50 degrees, because it still stinks here but i can imagine when it was a month ago approaching 90 degrees and this trash with really be smelling. smell is in the the problem, it the is that you have have two lanes block in each direction on i-95, southbound right before the betsy ross aramingo avenue exit and northbound, this is approaching the cottman exit. you hear road rage already because we are starting to see morning rush hour build and we have got three lanes merge nothing to one and nobody is going to be real patient today. they are all in a rush. we always get criticizing for doing traffic on television. reason why we want to you watching this at home before you leave and ma

we have police and tow trucks out there at the seen acene and really big backup. you can see how many vehicles, how many drivers are just sitting out there on 95 southbound. as i mentioned, the delay is about 2 1/2 miles right now, but the problem is, it's just a parking lot. people are just really sitting there because it's crawling along. one lane of traffic is getting by at that accident scene. so, this is a really big problem out there. let's take you to one of our other cameras right now. you can see this is 95 right at cottman and this is that delay that i can officially say starts at cottman avenue and that delay just continues and this delay will only get worse. avoid 95 southbound, if you can. this morning if you go and take the aramango on ramp and avoid 95 because you will be sitting for a while and the other big problem we're following is this overturned tractor trailer on the southeast side of the northeast extension. we have the right lane and the shoulder still blocked in that area and one lane of traffic getting by and the delay there has stretched
