trenton 42. and wilmington currently 44 degrees.e's the front that slipped through yesterday that brought us the drizzle. if you look to the west, pretty much quiet conditions across the midwest but then you see some of that cloud cover and that's because of cold air that's pouring down from canada and that cold air will try to make it in our direction by the start of the new year. so that high pressure is up over canada right now. it will slip a little bit farther down to the south by tomorrow afternoon bringing temperatures in the single digits and teens across the northern plain states. as we head to wednesday, new year's eve as this high pressure builds in, it will filter in the winds out of the west. so winds 10 to 16 miles per hour so wind chills will be in the low 20's through the afternoon but it will bring us some dry conditions. so ringing in the new year is looking pretty good. mostly clear. the fireworks at 6 o'clock 31 degrees. by midnight, for the fireworks at penn's landing then 28 degrees. factor in the winds, though

forty-one in trenton, 43 in philadelphia, 43 in wilmington. we have 43 in dover.rty-six wildwood. 34 degrees in the poconos. they are not making snow and icing problem that they saw early during the overnight has ended with all of the warmer air coming in. notice it is not raining in a lot of locations especially to the south. rain is to the north at this point but there is so much more back to the west that we will start to fill all of this in. i'll show you on the computer model exactly what we expect. as far as rainfall amounts if you generally think three-quarters of an inch to an inch of rain by the time this is over, that is probably pretty close to it. this computer model has dropped down just the full amount of rain that is expecting, for the shore areas. it had it over an inch and now it is three-quarters of an inch or so. but just generally expect heavier rain to be moving in this afternoon in the amounts of three-quarters to 1 inch, ponding on the roads, of course, is possible and temperatures will be in the 50's today for most everybody. varying places

look at that heavy rain though from atlantic city up to trenton and beyond.g and puddling there for sure, maybe a couple of flashy creeks and streams although no official flood warnings just yet. you can see how philadelphia is winding down to just lighter precipitation with that nice dry slot of air coming through wilmington and philadelphia. this has been the case for the last several hours. it's possible that some of these bands will shift a little bit and we'll get back into a steadier rainfall in philadelphia but for now a bit of a lull. as we take a look outside we have cloudy skies, windy conditions down the shore and of course at the shore it is still pretty wet as you are beneath that big heavy area of steadier precipitation. there's that camera bouncing in the wind, too. 39 degrees currently in philadelphia, 40 degrees in wilmington, 36 degrees in trenton, 34 in allentown, 34 in reading and mid 40's at sea isle city and at the boardwalk. matt mentioned this but i want to reminds you we're looking at delays for some flights at philadelphia internatio
