i start off with where i left off with trey yingst.l talk with them. how does this rebuilding come about? >> yeah, you are exactly right. the devil will be in the details to use the old cliche. one of the things that sort of jumped out at me though in president biden's comments though he was rather unambiguous about how he approaches hamas. he said hamas is a terrorist organization. we recognize that. i think that was the exact quote. he has others in his party who have encouraged him to deal with hamas. to talk about hamas as a political organization with a terrorist wing. he was rather unequivocal about it said hamas is a terrorist organization. i do think that makes it difficult. if you go back and look at the roots of some of what we have seen over the past few weeks and the power struggle between the palestinian authority and hamas, hamas is gaining strength. hamas is doing well. they were expected to do well in these elections. and i think the president sent a message in effect saying mahmoud abbas could potentially be a partner

let's go to foreign correspondent trey yingst at the border. as a call from our white house from president biden to deescalate. a lot of moving parts here to be sure on all sides, trey. what is going on? >> martha, good afternoon. breaking this hour, the israeli security cabinet just finished a three-hour meeting and has decided that they will announce a cease fire according to israeli media at 2:00 a.m. time with hamas. this comes after 11 days of fighting between the two sides. according to local media records, prime minister netanyahu along with his defense minister, benny gantz, will work with an egyptian delegation that got the cease fire together, hammering out the details. less than four hours from now, there should be a cease fire between israel and hamas. the death toll in gaza was rising and israel, ten people were killed as a result of the violence that erupted the past week between israel and gaza. more than 4,000 rockets fired towards the jewish state. this is a sigh of relief for the region that has just been focused on this confli
