the tri valley. so this is going to be an issue on the road in the tri valley. we will hear more from her in a second. in terms of how much long their will last you can see the future cast. the ability to see where the fog is. look at the pools of gray in the north bay. ly play this forward. it takes a while for that stuff to melt back. by the time we have the late morning it does. like it always does. we will have sunshine as we get in to the afternoon it. will be a pretty day. have you plenty of blue sky and temperatures will warm up into the mid-60s's. we will go to 64 in san jose. 65 for the daytime high today in santa rose a. as we watch this morning's clouds, just kind of disappear there's the wednesday afternoon with plenty of sun. we get into thursday. thursday stays the same. more blue sky on thursday than anything else. then high clouds for sunday. storm track is well to the north. you can see all of the rain continuing to group into the pacific northwest. all the weather goes up and around the long way. we have been watching that pattern. that intense

over towards fairfield and the tri-valley for the afternoon.he skies right now. nothing showing up too close to the bay area. we had some high clouds which made for a nice sunset but the storm that will eventually get us the rain is still kind of getting its act together here offshore. by tomorrow morning, north bay, you will begin to see some of those showers coming on through. by midday, notice san jose throughout may not see a whole lot or the tri-valley. those are two areas where the moisture kind of rains out here on the west slope of the santa cruz mountains, also in the east bay hills. and then dries as it heads to the santa clara valley and tri-valley. you could see most of it is here around the santa cruz mountains and the north bay through 11:00 tomorrow so rain totals, again, should be highest in the north bay. and there is really not a lot there as you can see. most places here, south of san francisco picking up about a tenth of an inch of rain. but locally, higher totals. we will probably see quarter inch to half inch of rain up ar

but we do have some very dense fog in the tri valley as well as on up into portions of one. 0, one inine and sonoma counties and for the santa clara valley. also some fog this morning. so be mindful of those lower visibility pockets. you can actually see some of this low gray showing up here in future cast this morning right along the bay shore up one o one and out into the delta to now we are going to be seeing a good dose of sunshine towards the afternoon. skies ranging from mostly sunny to partly cloudy a whole lot like yesterday was and another momfortably. cool one with daytime highs climbing just a little bit further back into the low 60's for a lot of areas now into tomorrow on into friday, the weekend ahead of a skies for the most part remaining. nice and clear. we will see some clouds in there mixed in. but bright skies for the most part, high pressure ridge built up continuing to send any chance of rainfall. well, to the north of us, taking the long way around up into western canada in the pacific northwest, rather than just giving us some much needed rainfall. at least dece

tri-valley, diablo valley. that is all you guys pick up a nice warm up and in the bay, by tuesday morning, 50 degrees will be a morning low. of course it doesn't mean the daytime highs will warm up, just me too much of a very big spread between lows and highs by the time we get there because we will see more clouds come back. a small chance of rain. we will look at that next. daytime highs coming up into the low 50s. there's the next chance for rain. most of the storms for next week and there will be a series of them coming in the west coast, they're all going too far north to have a significant impact here but the monday rainmaker will bring us rain. so that is what it looks like going through the afternoon. light showers for the most part, not a lot to this but it is a chance of rain pretty much throughout the day on monday, lingering into tuesday morning, we still have a chance of rain into tuesday we can see the totals are not huge. that is just the first one. perhaps by the end of next week there's another

we're only looking at about another few hundreds of an inch of rain in the tri-valley.s the sierra snowpack, it has been so great to see this big boost we have gotten. statewide we are at 147% of normal. we are still looking good here. we will also see some light snow showers if the forecast over the next few days, and about up to a foot in kingville. 7-day forecast, off and on showers through the end of the week and it will clear out in time for the weekend. we will be slightly cooler once that system passes. we will see highs in the upper 50s. now as we turn to our climate in crisis, we will highlight the colorado wildfires and how climate change has played a role in that. in boulder county, colorado, over the holiday, a massive wildfire ripped through more than 1,000 structures and two people are reported still missing. this is coming as scientists are seeing more evidence that wildfires no longer have a season, but they also can happen all throughout the year as temperatures warm and droughts worsen. so we saw that wind-whipped blaze that moved through, and in denve

inland east bay, 63 in concord, tri valley in livermore, napa valley topping out at 64. let's check with gianna for a look at traffic. >>> we are off to a great start. right now we are not seeing major issues or brake lights. things are very quiet, metering lights are off. that is the story for most freeways as well. it's a good time to be on the road way. i know it is early but you won't have to deal with a lot of traffic. san mateo bridge is looking good in both directions. traffic is quiet between 880 and 101. dublin interchange has the usual stuff we see every morning. brake lights are mostly coming off of 205 getting onto 580 itself. >>> i am anne makovec. we want to take you to the richmond san rafael bridge because it has been through it over the past 12 hours. all lanes are open. it is running smoothly. the lanes opened at midnight after a fiery crash. i want to show some video from social media showing massive flames shooting out of a semi truck. it had shut down the bridge for more than five hours after a truck collided with a car. the driver of the car became

it's fine in the tri valley. we don't have any issues here. we had some of our thickest and most stubborn fog in the tri valley. everything has cleared out. beautiful blue sky. we check out the scene looking north. out toward mount tam you can see the leftover clouds hanging out over the bay and one last look from the mark hopkins. it's still hazy over the bay. the real trouble spots right here. high resolution satellite shows you where we still have a stubborn patch of stratus. all of san pablo. that's meting back as i speak. the visibility sensor is still down to three tenths of a mile. that's the only place that has an issue. with in the next hour to hour and a half even that will improve. then we all get into sun for the rest of today. temperatures out there right around the low tomid50's. we are going back up into the low to mid-60s's. you can see that for the south bay. 64 santa clara. 62 union city. san mateo61, we will see numbers in the low 60's for the inland valleys. back in the heart of the bay. the numbers perhaps cooler if you ar

tri valley has also been seeing that fog, especially problematic this morning.it's a very light one on the roads as far as traffic goes. so you're going to slit yourselves down rather than traffic doing it for you. you can actually see fog showing up in future cast right here along the bay into the north bay and then especially into the delta 2. this is going to last through around 10:00am this morning after which point you're going to get a good solid dose of sunshine, mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies this afternoon. tomorrow morning, likely to have some more fog as well. but tomorrow afternoon is actually going to be a touch warmer than today. and the weekend ahead of us is likely going to bring some upper 60's for some of our inland areas. so this high pressure ridge is having quite the impact on what our january has been so far drying things out and warming things up. and we're ending january with some really, really mild weather and a continuation of dry weather. it does look like in long-range forecast, february could bring a switch up. at least that's

tri-valley at 40. east bay at 43. san francisco 46 and north bay 41. so here's the clouds to start. then advancing this you can see not much of a change rolling through the afternoon. i do anticipate some breaks of sunshine trying to get through the high clouds tomorrow. but all in all, we'll have to deal with that. our temperatures as we roll through tomorrow change a whole lot and there is really not many variations across the microclimate. it's feeling similar wherever you go across the bay. 64 here in san jose. let's take it to the east bay .at 62 in concord. 63 towards fremont. peninsula 62 in palo alto. up to daly city 61. st. francis 59 in the outer sunset through the north bay 64 in clearlake. 63 santa rosa back to napa, low 60s as well. now the one thing that could bother i wanted to make sure i got out here is the pollen. in the moderate for cedar alder and pine. the seven-day forecast keeps you dry next seven days. . we have 50s and 60s for highs there. and the temperatures don't adjust a whole lot for the inland valleys looking pretty much the same here for the daytime h

that's what we are seeing in the tri-valley and the south bay, while we are still getting light showers in parts of the north bay from napa and solano counties and down to san francisco and parts of contra costa county this morning waking up to showers. as we get a closer look at concord right now, between concord, richmond and oakland, we are seeing light showers moving through, and showers continuing in san francisco and up and down peninsula where we are seeing light rain moving through, and we will also continue to see some of the rain moving through throughout the morning as well as a chance for this afternoon. we're not done with this wet weather yet. we are going to see more as we go throughout the week. the good news is it's beneficial rain and not causing any problems. we will continue to monitor that and another look at the forecast, coming up in a few minutes. >>> today president biden meets with his response team as the omicron variant wreaks havoc across the country. >> we have live team coverage. first, today in the bay's alice barr is in washington with the push to rollou

chilly around the tri-valley right now, 45. and into san francisco, no fireworks tonight.be folks are kind of staring up here at the top of salesforce tower having a little bit of a show right there. 50 degrees. northwest wind at 12 miles per hour. even san francisco later tonight will have a chance of seeing some upper 30s. right now seeing a little bit of a windchill effect here into the north bay. it feels like 41 degrees right now in santa rosa with temperatures in the mid-40s and winds at 10 miles per hour. progressively those numbers get colder. 30s as early as midnight tonight. upper 20s and low 30s in those wind sheltered north bay valleys. low 30s from almost right near downtown san jose but more so into south san jose, morgan hill, and san martin and the tri-valley also expecting temperatures in the 30s to start. then rebounding back into the 40s and low 50s for the afternoon. i do want to focus on those cold morning temperatures. sunday morning again very similar to what we're going to be seeing tonight and into tomorrow morning. then monday progressively into t

we'll take you over to the tri-valley. you may notice in the inland east bay with the wind somewhat offshore, a little smoke has settled into the tri-valley. some of that from the central valley and a combination of the offshore breezes and no rain or strong wind to push it out. it will lead to air quality issues, specifically for the inland east bay. some areas are already seeing unhealthy for sensitive groups due to the smoke in the air. we'll see that probably through the day tomorrow. and the north bay could be another spot we might see levels get briefly unhealthy for sensitive groups. the forecast tomorrow morning, a brief chance a few light showers passing by. had a bit of that around santa cruz and morgan hill. morning temperatures in the 40s to low 50s by lunchtime near 60 in san jose and for the santa clara valley, another day, numbers in the mid-60s. south of downtown san jose, 61 in oakland. 60 in fremont but also mostly cloudy skies through the day as more of these clouds continue to come up out of the south.

as we head inland, look at livermore, down to 41 degrees. 30s around the tri-valley by sunrise tomorrow. and in walnut creek, 46 degrees. watching out for hazy skies. and in the east bay valleys, a bit of a light offshore breeze. i think briefly in the morning we might see unhealthy for sensitive groups air quality due to smoke trapped underneath high pressure. now, another source of the smoke and the extra orange we saw to the sunset tonight was due to the smoke from the colorado fire down here south of monterey. you can see how more of that smoke has been hung up around monterey county. that should be generally less of a factor over the next couple of days as the activity from that fire continues to trend downward. but notice a trend here in terms of the fog. it's already setting up across the sacramento valley and the san joaquin valley to the east. so very likely solano county, inland contra costa county, some of those north bay valleys, you will see some of that patchy fog for the morning. it will be a chilly start. 30s and low 40s for those inland valleys for the morning. by lunch

we are seeing some especially low visibility for the tri valley. portions of the bay shore and up into the north bay. just taking a little bit slower. you can actually see on futurecast where that low gray is hanging out this morning are key. has it been that bad? so that means that people are traveling at the limit through some of that lower visibility. and that is just a good reminder to take a slower in those patchy areas of fog. high pressure ridge built up, keeping us dry, keeping us mild and not going anywhere anytime soon. will stay this way through the weekend through next week, too. today's daytime highs are actually going to be just a touch warmer than they were yesterday 50's to 60's for your peak temperatures right along the coastline. whereas temperatures for our bayshore in inland cities will mostly be back up into the sixties today. areas like campbell and san jose into the mid 60's at 64 while freeman through hayward on up through oakland, berkeley, in the 60's concord, you'll be at 61 for your hive. allay in benicia each right at 6
