berkeley. j.r., what are police saying tonight? they say this area is safe despite the fact that no arrests were made. this is an area near underhill field where thousands of uckeley students live.this is it looked like late this afternoon as uc berkeley police looked for a man believed to be armed with a gun. video from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. they sent out four nixle alerts about what was going on. they searched several of the dorm buildings at uc berkeley. specifically a dorm building called unit one. the man was wanted in connection with an armed robbery. police did not say where that armed robbery happened but had a section of the unit 1 dorm building roped off with yellow crime tape. there have been at least a dozen robberies in berkeley in the last six months. most recently robberies at cafes where electronics were stolen. students i talked with say it was concerning to hear what was going on but they were happy to be alerted.these past few months berkeley really hasn't been that safe and i think it really helps to see these notifications so that it warns people to be more alert about their surroundings. nowadays now in my fifth yea

police say walker ran from the truck and tried to carjack three other vehicles. witnesses identified walker. he was taken into custody. >>> a uc berkeleyof vandalism aimed at the republicans group on campus. the san francisco chronicle reports that the unnamed student was cited on vandalism charges and since been released. that student and another person allegedly trashed a president trump yard sign on campus. the two are also accused of trying to run over a member of the college republicans group with their bike because he was trying to get a photo of them. the arrest comes as police are also investigating an incident where a student destroyed one of the group's wooden signs. >>> there is shock and anger at a school in sacramento that helps teenage and adult students with special needs. last week somebody vandalized the school. the sheriff's office released photos of the damage including smashed sinks and tossed therapy equipment and wheelchairs. somebody tossed them into a pool. authorities used security video to track down an 11-year-old and 13 fold the vandalism. they face charges and the families could be ordered to pay for the ch
