ukiah, lake port, santa rosa at 49. everybody else 50 to 54 degrees. plenty of cloud cover along the coast, at least from the golden gate southward and you can see most of the cloud cover south of this area, also. let me show you what's going on. we have several areas of low pressure spinning around. the one that brought us the showers yesterday now kind of near vegas and the high desert spinning around. on the back side of that another chunk of energy that's not going to bring us any wet weather but will keep the clouds in the forecast for today. so we won't completely clear up but will need the sunglasses from time to time. not quite as breezy and chilly as yesterday but still we're stuck in the 60s. look at how much warmer we are tomorrow. five to ten degrees and then you see our first touch of 80s wednesday and more for friday, saturday and sunday inland. mid-70s around the bay. >> let's take a look at traffic. things are flowing nicely and no problems there to report other than a high wind advisory. hold on to the wheel if you're crossing this mor

lake port, 81. 82 in ukiah and mid to upper 70s inland to the south bay. low to mid-70s. can see the green along the coast signifying some drizzle even in the santa cruz mountains, temperatures in the low to mid-50s. an area of low pressure will move from east to west firing up showers and thunderstorms across the sierra but with that counterclockwise flow it will steer back to us. you can see a green blob over the top of us at 8:30 and then quietness friday during the early morning and afternoon hours. you can see a few more chances of showers during the afternoon hours friday. everything should start to calm down. look at the rain totals. wave t in friday a couple hundreds of an inch. the sunshine returns and makes it a gorgeous really comfortable mother's day weekend. have a good one. here's alexis. >>> good morning, mike. taking a look at the roads this morning, we do have one new issue in a tough spot here southbound 880 under state route 92. a crash is blocking at least one lane. you are heavy that will make it heavier. and some better news in discovery bay, westbou

in the north bay, we could have over two inches of rain, maybe closer to three inches in ukiah. normally we're getting three-quarters for the whole month of may. as we look at the last time, we got a significant rain, at least a half inch of rain. for napa, we haven't had this kind of rain in 51 days. it's been 72 days since we had three-quarter inch rain in livermore. san jose, it's been 6 days since we had a half inch of rain. it's really a big impact considering we have had such a long time with dry weather. here's what we're expecting once again. for the santa clara valley, we will get closer to a half to maybe three-quarters of an inch of rain. in the north bay, it could be two inches plus. thunderstorms likely on thursday afternoon. winds will be anywhere from 35 to 50 miles per hour, especially wednesday night. and then the sierra snow, we're still talking about that. near 6,000 feet we are looking at significant snows there. check out what the computer models are showing this morning. close to two feet of snow in the sierra. i can't believe it myself. we'll have to see.

it is around ukiah. 101 south state street, the rest us will have to wait until tomorrow as you look here. we are tracking an atmospheric river. this storm is significant for spraying. it is not something we expect to see this time of year. as far as the intensity, it is more like winter. temperatures in the 50s, the cities. the clouds holding the numbers down. and we're seeing a little sliver of sunshine. plenty of clouds stagd up. we have some snow on the ground and a fresh coating coming on thursday early morning. so first thing tomorrow morning. the showers will begin early in the morning. tomorrow afternoon, windy and wet. the temperatures will be in the upper 50s to 60s for wednesday. the wettest areas over an inch of rain. as we take a look at the wind gusts, noontime, they start to pick up. watch what happens. they start to ramp up. 4:30, the winds continue to remain gusty. so if you have any loose patio furniture, you'll want to secure that or bring any of your stuff inside if you won't cover it. so hour by hour we go. tomorrow morning we'll see some light showers. very scat

maybe even as high as a half inch in ukiah today where some of the heavier rain moves through. there will be a spotty chance of shower late in the day on thursday. other than that, our forecast looks pretty good. warming up. and then rain nearby the region on saturday. it looks like it stays to the south and the east of the bay area. heads-up if you will be traveling for the memorial day weekend. we will be watching out for more rain chances. mike, you are starting out with a crash in the south bay? >> we didn't have any detail and it wasn't showing any slowing. the car had a problem with an engine and it locked up and spun out. maybe slick roadways helped with that or caused a problem with that. slicker roadways registering now at the tail end of 101 and 85 as they meet at the bottom of san jose on our map for the south bay. that's less than we saw the last time we looked at this map. kari talked about the late showers coming through. 101, 17 both pushing towards silicon valley. same thing all around the bay. we see the green highlighted spots in the tri-valley and east bay. w

ukiah up to about 82 t.78 in santa rosa and also antioch tomorrow close to 80 degrees. is the pattern shift that we're finally going see as this area of low pressure that brought all the weird weather yesterday starts to move out. we will see warmer temperatures for the middle part of the week but look closely here like clockwork wednesday, thursday and friday afternoon basically from 2:00 to 5:00 and the peak heating of the day. notice how the showers are flaring up. around the north bay higher hills thursday afternoon into friday so that's something we'll have to watch as high pressure is not quite over northern california just yet to prevent some of these afternoon showers neither mountains from firing. we'll be watching that closely as we head towards the weekend. notice how this high strengthens towards northern california sunday into monday and shower chances for the mountains start to shut down and temperatures are set to climb as you see right there. that seven-day forecast running at the bottom of the screen and full screen. san francisco should be into the 70s

of the north bay anywhere from an inch and a half to over two inches of rain as you head up around ukiah. additional rainfall this weekend will give us another possibly half inch of rain as we are going to see another wet storm moving in. we think how much rain do we normally get in may? what's the wettest may we have ever seen. san jose dates back to 1915 where we had over two inches of rain, over two and a half inches. and more recently, we have had some rain in may of 1990 and 1998. that was close to two inches of rain. so we're looking at for san jose, i think three quart-quart an inch. so this wet storm moving in. i know you're making weekend plans. let's skip ahead to friday. friday morning we start out with light showers. and then it kind of moves out going into the afternoon. so friday afternoon is looking dry and sunny. another storm system moves in on saturday. saturday afternoon we start to see the rain in the north bay first, early afternoon, and the rest of the bay area starts to see the showers into the 6:00 to 7:00 hours. so saturday evening is looking wet. still off and o
