embarcadero and we felt that was cutting off a lot of the access to the visual characteristics of the bay here so we didn't find this useful and we moved the arena away from the embarcadero to reduce the impact and open up more views from the north-south or east-west directions and it's important to protect those corridors and we will talk more about that. this is the water mark and one of the buildings on the site and you extend that outward and the general corridors this is you what you get and this is the facades on bryant street and what they have and bay view and corridors like this. now if you put them all together this is what you get so those are the protected zones of views from private individuals from their residences and work and you see the triangle free of corridors. it's so far out it has less impact on the surroundings and that's where we chose to put the arena site itself but more importantly we know that the private views are important to consider and public views are important too so move along the main streets and the embarcadero you need access to the waterfront visually so putting the arena here in th

be doing to address the programming needs of those communities. 7 neighborhoods accounted for 59 percent of the graffiti, this is visually showing you how most of the graffiti continues for us to be concentrated in 7 specific neighborhoods. i'm going to have to turn the light off again. so this map is a sample of one of the maps that was created. so the original dots reflect where the graffiti was and the intensity of the graffiti that occurred in 2011. so the larger the dot, the more intensity the graffiti was at that particular location. the blue dots indicate how much graffiti or what the graffiti was at each location in terms of the incidents for 2012. so you can see from here, it's not -- i was hoping for a better visual, but in here in the hot spot neighborhood, this is one example where the hot spot neighborhood isn't as significant as the random area. the random area is showing more graffiti vandalism than the hot spot neighborhood, but the intensity is pretty clear. if we're going to tackle a neighborhood we need to be looking here, we need to be looking in here. so it's been very beneficial in terms of where we should be looking in terms of our programming. this i

next to the city is the derivative of the gps marker for this google location and i sort of transposed the numbers and used that. i wanted to connotate that virtual world and also there was a visual connection to the photographic heritage that was pretty wild. on top of this moment in time, there is also a breaking down of the imagery thaps in the google pictures themselves, most of these are lo fi and i chose that i guess because of the esthetics. it did not contain the same look as these and it also erode the truth and makes the lens a little bit blurry, it alters things from a technical point of view. so, you could see these pictures that sort of describe them as drive-by pictures that we are drive-by really captures this and not necessarily immersive in any way. it is literally a car driving by capturing a moment. some of this has been done in the past, walker evans took pictures out of a moving vehicle. in fact, strangely, right upstairs in the library before this talk i was looking through my side and i have on there a gallery from evans that is called drive by pictures and it is about 30 images of him flying down the road in mississippi and georgia and taking pictures of s
