. >> florida democrats put a lot of money in the val demings campaign. there are a number of factors working against them. there's been a lot of migration into the state by venezuelans and others who are sort of refugees from socialism who have been sort of targeted with the message that democrats are social iss. it's just like the country that you fled, and it's kind of run out of control so that's it's not just refugees and second and third generation cubans, now venez venezuelans, nicaraguans, and miami-dade is no longer as reliably blue. >> which is fascinating. president biden asked if he's going to run, and he's still making it clear that's my intention, but i haven't yet decided. here's something else he said to judy woodruff about that. >> it sounds like you're running? >> i haven't made that decision. that's my intention, i think, but i haven't made that decision firmly. >> he's been using that word intention for a while. it's strategic, it's pointed. he clearly wants to run. he's trying to take the best interests of the country and his party. i

my good friend and former colleague val demings, giving additional support to police officers for community for additional training, for support for non-police officers working in different areas. that's been done. and i think if you you look back on the history of what happened in the senate, it was not senator booker who walked away from the table. we were still engaged in discussion, and the other good senator decided that it was done because we had decided that qualified immunity was a very important component of it. and listen, in my instance i come from a long law enforcement family. grandfather, father was a police officer. uncles, whatever. we understand the good police officers, the greatest threat to them are bad police officers. >> bad police officers. >> and having qualified immunity doesn't have to be across the board. right? there are instances in which qualified immunity may be removed. whether it's for second-degree assault or attempted murder or degrees which we haven't had discussions about as yet. >> you've been tapped by democratic minority leader hakeem jeffries to be t

son policing, karen bass and val demings were two of the lead house advocates for the george floyd bill. they are both no longer in the house. so who does the white house see as your best partners in the house on that legislation? and also, are there republicans who the white house has reached out to or otherwise see as potential partners in the house to make the numbers work? karine: as you know, there were some republicans in the senate that were incredibly helpful or tried to be helpful in the last session as it relates to george floyd justice in policing act. i'd refer you to them and see where they are this time around. as far as it relates to the republicans, i can tell you for this meeting, i can give you the list of attendees who will be here. and so they are certainly involved in this process. this next state of legislation process. representative horsford. obviously, the chair will be here. representative clyburn. representative neguse. representative jackson lee. we have senator booker who played a very big role. and as you know -- i think you guys heard the vice president ye
