vallejo leaders say it's an ongoing problem for many cities. you have 300, 400, 500 cars. i don't care how large your police department is, it's not going to be enough. you're going to have to have outside help. and i think there are many things legislatively that need to be done as well. i would love to see the penalty increased. richmond police also responded to at least two sideshows. officers were able to quickly disperse the group at one show, but later at another location, more cars arrived. police say while they were trying to break up that group, one driver tried to hit the officers before speeding off and leading police on a short chase. that driver was arrested. ski season not going to be here for a few months, but winter-like weather is already making an appearance in the sierra. check out this video from northstar resort. this is today. it is august, and yes, that is snow. a number of resorts, including kirkwood, reporting snow and heavy winds today. meteorologist rob mayeda is here. and rob, this is just weird. yeah, we don't really see measurable rain. this t

vallejo community center. new at ten tonight. ktvu zac sos live in the city of vallejo. after talking with firefighters and neighbors zach. >> yeah, neighbors really still just very shaken by what happened here early this morning. one neighbor telling me how he was awoken by the flames and how he ran over here with a garden hose and tried to douse that fire. another woman across the street telling me how she frantically tried to call 911. >> it was big. it was going on all on top of the roof. >> diana ellis was woken out of bed just before three in the morning. >> i could smell smoke stepping outside her front door in vallejo to see her neighbor's home on depaul drive engulfed in flames. i couldn't get my cell phone to dial 911 that was making me so upset because i didn't know if they were in there or not. >> by that time, another neighbor had already called 911 and was trying his best to douse the fire with a garden hose. firefighters arriving soon after and finding one woman in her 80s in the living room already dead. another woman in her 60s was discovered unconscious

vallejo did not. and there by dawn, 3 other east bay cities had their streets taken over about 15 minutes after police chased the crowd at a vallejo sideshow began and crockett at the intersection of san pablo avenue or ng straight. hundreds of people who are watching jamming up access to i-80. but 30 minutes later, this brief sideshow enrichment. but 100 cars blocked the intersection of cutting boulevard and harbor way. police say one driver who had been trying to escape drove right at police. he was chased down. he was arrested. finally in oakland, another sideshow. another ring of fire. this one lasted less than half an hour. police broke it up about 03:00am not clear yet whether this string of early morning sideshows, we're connected. san francisco police are investigating a midday shooting on haight street calls reporting the shooting came in just before 3 this afternoon. this was the intersection of haight and masonic police think there'd been some kind of argument that ended in gunfire. the area was closed off about 4 hours while police investigated. they had not at last word found any victims.

vallejo, neighbors say they hear the illegal stunt drivers. it was very loud. it's a lot of cars. you can hear the tires turning and the donuts. others told us off camera they're looking to city leaders for solutions. we reached out to vallejo police about the sideshows, but are waiting to hear back. christie smith, nbc, bay area news. a house fire in san jose has left at least one firefighter injured. dozens of firefighters were called out to a burning house on cicero way. that's in the evergreen community. making things even more urgent. there was live ammunition in the garage, and the department believes someone may have gone in trying to help the people in the home. if your house is on fire and you're calling 911, please do not reenter that structure. these fires move incredibly fast, especially in this case where there was fuel and oil and ammunition in the garage. it really builds faster than most people would anticipate. the injured firefighter burned on the face and ears. no other injuries were reported, though. two dogs did die in that fire. the entire house. it is a loss. we are told 14 people were displaced. well tonight police have someone in custody in connection

vallejo on yeah. july was a bloodied month for that city and as our current forcefully job reports tonight, a whole is now on pace to surpass last year's total number of homicides. >> shots were fired thursday morning in room 3.12, at the super 8 motel solano avenue in vallejo. and when staff ran upstairs, the manager says a man was found bleeding from gunshot wounds. 2 days later, he died at a hospital making him the 15th homicide victim of the year. ever since i moved to the winds have been going up last year. 22 homicides were reported citywide following a deadly july when 4 murders were investigated. >> august getting off to a bad start. angie has lived in the labels since the start of the pandemic. it's it's concerning. bullet

tonight, police in vallejo are on the hunt for suspects following a violent and disruptive night in the citye shooting at a sideshow left a man dead and ktvu bailey o'carroll spoke with neighbors in that area as well as police. bailey. any arrests made as well as in any other incidents? yeah. >> good evening. christina. police telling me tonight that they arrested four people and cited three others at that sideshow. the suspects responsible for the shootings are still outstanding. when the clock struck midnight saturday morning, chaos ensued at the intersection of b.w. williams and louis brown streets in vallejo. video of a sideshow shows people standing near a ring of fire as speeding cars circled the outside. neighbors estimate there were more than 150 onlookers, as up to three drones circled above filming. according to vallejo police, they were investigating a shooting less than ten minutes away when they got a call about a shooting at a sideshow. when police arrived, they found one man with a gunshot wound. he was pronounced dead at the scene. no arrests have been made in the killing, th
