in santa cruz, several communities are under evacuation orders like watsonville , seacliff, and capitola. devin fehely joins us with the latest. how is it looking right now? are people following orders? >> that is a complex question . a tough one to answer . right now where i am is downtown boulder creek in the heart of the santa cruz mountains. it has been raining heavily and intensely for the last hour or so. some other areas in this part of santa cruz county where people have been urged to evacuate ahead of the storm. a lot of folks that we talked to say , well, for now, we are going to stay put. the people in these coastal communities, people in the mountain communities, they say they know that these storms come and that they are intense. there is kind of a trifecta of potential dangers that are associated with these storms , which is rising rivers, mudslides, falling trees. they say, you know what, until it really becomes dire, and a lot of people decide to stay. we have video from a coastal region. that's an area low-lying and flood prone right there by the coast. there is a creek
