i wouldn't even sprinkles this morning, though, we did have a light sprinkle around mount tam earlier from that, though, it's just low gray and some syrian sprinkles up there. once you head east of sacramento, what we do for the rest of this forecast is cooler air sinking in. that means that tomorrow is actually going to be just as cool if not a little cooler than today. and also a pretty cloudy start tomorrow with our best chance of rainfall for the bay area to start tomorrow morning. you see those sprinkles up in the sierra today. bay area looking dry and future cast just the clouds. we've got overhead now come tomorrow morning, could see some sprinkles up in the santa cruz mountains as well as the diablo range is maybe a few around san jose and up most of us across the bay area just to far north and west to tap into this moisture central coast. central valley. sierra foothills getting some rain in the sierra nevada itself seeing some much needed snowfall skies clear midday tomorrow. this is actually perfect timing for fleet week and one of the air she was going on midday tomorrow.

we are looking at over six and a half inches, mount tam. and 1.67 now in the santa cruz mountains. there it is, that area of low pressure that is quickly looking at a very strong system as it pushes that atmospheric river into the bay area. the area of low pressure, the barometric pressure dropping quickly, and that is what you get that tight comma-looking system. pockets of heavy rain all throughout the north bay. napa, by the delta, 680, furthe6 south into san rafael we are looking at some moderate rain. it is lighter rain in the southbay from san leandro to the peninsula. this all will pick up at about 2:00 this afternoon. it is going to take a while for that front to sink south. the temperatures, mild and muggy, driven by those gusty winds. nevada, up to 32 miles an hour. you can see, oakland, 36 mile an hour wind gust. it keeps going all the way down the peninsula. look at that -- 60 mile an hour gusts on top of mount st. helena. looking at el diablo, 50 mile an hour gusts. we get the strongest winds out ahead, and with the frontal passage. this is going to take us through the

i'll talk more about that later time, but we had big rain 27 inches from this atmospheric river in six days around mount tam. here's the record that's most impressive as i show you, some more rains totals here. this is san francisco, downtown san francisco downtown. the records go back to 18 49. they got what they get they got four inches of rain in 24 hours. double the all time october record ever double that, and it's a record that goes back to 18 49. and to put it in perspective of mount tam gets 27 inches of rain already so far this season. 25 inches a year is what san francisco gets. so mount tam and for 72 hours garnered as much rain as san francisco gets in an entire rainfall season. this was a big event, but it takes more like come back. we'll look at the forecast. it involves the five day and then the next chance for some rain. all right, we'll see in a bit, bill. thank you about 18,000. customers in the bay area still don't have their power back after the storm. that's down from 68,000 this morning. pg and e says since three pm they have restored power to 18,000 customers in the bay area since the

mount tam has picked up 10 inches, over 3.43 in santa rosa. this past week we of an inch in oakland, about 1.7 in san francisco. since the year started in october, that is good news. here is san jose. 57 in oakland. if you for san jose, half moon bay, mount tam is a beautiful view, 726 is the sunrise. the sunset gives us just under 11 hours of daylight. pretty nice right now. 51 santa rosa and napa. we had a little flock to the north earlier. 50 in nevada with 55 concord and livermore. in santa cruz, mid 50's. eyes in the low 60's and even santa cruz is expecting three inches of rain. hard to believe, i know. but this has been really consistent throughout the past week. light rain showers today, a level 1 system, strong storm arrives overnight into sunday and rainy, windy conditions into monday. we have the clouds and sun out there this morning, especially in the east bay, south bay, the peninsula. then the clouds overtake the bay area throughout the afternoon. we still have showers that will be dotting the landscape not only in the north bay but we can see the

. >> as we talk about our weather forecast. this is a view from mount tam. it's looking a little bit more green out there and certainly still damp our meteorologists memories boundary business. here now with more on the drought conditions and also a look at the return of more rain. >> yeah, that's right. that storm door remains open through next week justine so above average rain to start out our wet season will continue for us here in the bay area. let's take a look at the drought monitor the show just how that atmosphere river put a little bit of a dent in parts of the north bay, specifically most of sonoma and marin counties out of that exceptional drought category and in that red severe drought. so we're heading in the right direction. little change everywhere else in the bay area. but we did notice some improvement as well. for those of you in this year's south lake tahoe and even most of this also upgraded from extreme to severe drought. so we are noticing some improvement there as well as south lake tahoe getting 7 inches of rain thanks to this past w

oh you know, mount tam erin area like that 45 mile an hour winds. we had a wind advisory. now we get a little break and we kick it off again thursday evening, and we get another very similar system. look at the rain totals very similar, so 10th of an inch to quarter of an inch. to maybe a half inch for most of us, and then the heavy locations, inch and a half. so the one and two here manageable completely manageable. three. it's manageable, but it's big. i mean, it's got. i mean, some of these rainfall accumulations, big sur red in the santa cruz mountains could go 56 inches of rain in a 24 hour period of time. we it's manageable. we've seen that before, but that's a lot of rain. and plus you remember, the santa cruz mountains will have already. accumulated rain from storms. one in storms, too. so one and two not a big deal you want tonight? you're you'll notice that the roads be little wet in the morning. same deal on stooped onto but sunday. that's a real weather event. that's the big deal, i would say. based on what i'm seeing with the winds and the trajectory of this s
